Will Mark Lloyd {FCC Chief Diversity Czar} Protect Free Speech?

Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck, on August 14, discussed the new Chief Diversity Czar — Mark Lloyd, former senior fellow at George Soros’s Center for American Progress and a consultant to Soros’s Open Society Institute — and his plans at the FCC for equalizing air time for public with that of private radio.

The FCC Chief Diversity Officer is seeking to punish conservative radio broadcasters to increase the funding for NPR (Nitwit Public Radio) based on the surprise findings that 91% of talk radio programming is conservative and 9% is progressive (New word for Socialist).

The reason Mr. Lloyd can't understand is because there is no market in progressive broadcasting and thus no profit. Private companies are in business to make a profit. Public broadcasting is not. Adopting this would silence a large portion of radio or at least create a few thousand oldies stations. Will the Christian stations have offer equal time to the non-Christian views and music? The progressive voice is heard when they call in and voice their views. No one is keeping them doing that. But when they do, most are ranting, make no sense and dodge questions. They are much like the dart throwers on conservative blogs. They come in, throw darts, call names, cuss and leave with a closed mind. Article Continues...

  • Mark Lloyd, chief diversity officer of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), called for a "confrontational movement" to combat what he claimed was control of the media by international corporations and to re-establish the regulatory power of government through robust public broadcasting and a more powerful FCC.


  • This is about control and tax revenue. It is not about diversity or equalizing the radio market. Mark Lloyd like most liberals wants to control our lives and what better way then with taxes. To punish a successful private business should be a crime. Article Source

FCC Information On Wikipedia 

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States government, created, directed, and empowered by Congressional statute (see and ), and with the majority of its commissioners appointed by the current President. The FCC works towards six goals in the areas of broadband, competition, the spectrum, the media, public safety and homeland security, and modernizing the FCC.

The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 as the successor to the Federal Radio Commission and is charged with regulating all non-federal government use of the radio spectrum (including radio and television broadcasting), and all interstate telecommunications (wire, satellite and cable) as well as all international communications that originate or terminate in the United States. It is an important factor in U.S. telecommunication policy. The FCC took over wire communication regulation from the Interstate Commerce Commission. The FCC's mandated jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions. Due however to close geographic proximity to the United States, the FCC also provides varied degrees of cooperation, oversight, and leadership for similar communications bodies in other countries of North America. The FCC has a 2009 proposed budget of $466 million which is funded by $1 million in taxpayer appropriations and the rest in regulatory fees. It has 1,899 "full-time equivalent" federal employees.

On 14 November 2008, Barack Obama appointed Susan P. Crawford and Kevin Werbach to lead the review of the FCC. The review team will review the commission to aid the new administration in its planning decisions. The team "will ensure that senior appointees have the information necessary to complete the confirmation process, lead their departments, and begin implementing signature policy initiatives immediately after they are sworn in."

    I find many of the statements you have made and policies you strive to attain offensive, dangerous, anti-American, anti-democracy, anti-free speech, and racist. I realize that you don't care what I think or believe, but at least now you know what I think and believe. I have no idea why the President would destroy his presidency by consorting with the likes of you, but he has. I suggest you should start searching for a job with your hero, Hugo Chavez, because you're the next socialist or anarchist or whatever you describe yourself as, to resign . . . you just don't know it yet. You sir, are a leader of a revolution against my country and our way of life and I, like tens of millions of others, stand against you, your ilk, and your evil goals.

    It is not personal, you're a smart man, but you mind is poisoned and you propose things that eighty percent of the country opposes.

    happening in our Government and their take over. American MUST wake up and
    see what's happening We can't let it happen. thankfully we have Michael, Rush,
    Shawn , Mark and Glenn to wake us and see our lives being taken over and our
    freedoms being lost. It's frightening.

    This is a scary time in America. Mark Lloyd wants to silence any person that doesn't agree with Obama. Along with Van Jones the green czar, who is a communist, his words, not mine and all these other czars we are about to lose our country as we know it.

    Mark Lloyd wants to control the doublespeak that you currently hear on all the major news sources acept talk radio what you can only find on talk radio.Listen to Michael Savage while you still may. It may be the only hope with have left to keep the truth alive, outside of Glenn beck or maybe even Rush. Come on America, WAKE UP!
