Technically, I am not sure if this is considered an outreach organization but is is a non-profit. However, the link is definitively worth visiting for new-comers or those of us who should learn more about the parks, trails, and local surroundings. Echo Lake Park

I lived in the area over four years before I knew that this park existed. The above link notes that the "Echo Lake Park is located on Route 209 just 3 miles North of Marshalls Creek, across from the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church." The church is located at 5205 Milford Rd East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. There are pictures at this link if interested.

Judy Putek Park

For dog lovers everywhere, there IS a place to run you four-legged friend off the leash! "The Judy Putek Memorial Park is located at 60 Municipal Drive. This park has been dedicated in memory of Judy Putek, a long time environmentalist and advocate of open space who was a very active member of the Middle Smithfield Township community. ... preserving 12.837 acres in our township. ... Walking paths wind through fields and pastures, providing an excellent habitat for flora and fauna. Bring your binoculars-warblers love this park!!" And, yes, bring the dog(s) as well!

Access to this park is LIMITED to days where there is NOT school. The park is located behind the elementary school and includes a pavilion, walking nature trail, sand volleyball field/net, soccer field, baseball field, basketball hoops, and a HUGE playground. The closest outdoor public pool is located at Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg. The summer swimming rates are VERY affordable but only run for part of the summer. This falls is free and is easily accessible. There is no hiking necessary to see the view! If interested, there is a bridge that visitors can cross to get a closer view of the falls. Located in Monroe Country.
