Opportunity is NASA's latest robot out exploring Mars. It follows Mars2, Mars3, Spirit and Sojourner in its quest to gather more information about our red neighbor.
Launched July 2003, it was the first such vehicle to use a revolutionary landing strategy involving inflated ballons to cushion its impact.
