"Try before you buy"
I'm not really thinking about a full year or something long term.
Many schools have a trial membership for a week, or month (or any limited number of classes), while others have what they might call introductury programs, trial membership - or something along those lines.
"The local school don't have any such programs or gift card options," some people say. Well, if the people there are at all concerned about staying in business, they will be able to make a deal and present you with an introductory "gift letter" or card. Just ask!
A gift for a trial period is a great way to have someone test the waters before jumping in!Naturally, you would need to know something about the school, program, art etc.
