Maruti Ritz is A2 segment hatchback of Indian giant automaker Maruti Suzuki and it was introduced in India in 2008. The company had launched both petrol and diesel engines in nine variants in India. Maruti Ritz diesel is one of the best diesel hatchbacks of its segment. However compared to its sibling petrol version, the power delivered by diesel version is lesser but it is very much at par with any other diesel car in its segment.

There are four variants of diesel version available in India and the variants are Ritz LDi, VDi , VDi with ABS and Genus VDi a special limited edition and recently launched model. Maruti Ritz Genus comes with attractive features like keyless entry, parcel tray, rear wiper/wash, tilt steering, distinct body graphics, body side moldings, radio system that comes with CD player and speakers, dual tone dashboard and many more.

Coming to the Maruti Ritz car specifications, it is equipped with 1.3 Liter DDiS diesel engine with the displacement of 1248 cc. Along with that it comes with geometry turbocharger and is BS-IV complaint, conforming with the emission norms. All these features make it as the one of the best fuel efficient diesel car. Five speed manual transmission gear box is standard in all the variants. Ritz diesel has the capacity to produce maximum power of 75 ps at the rate of 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 190 nm at the rate of 2000 rpm. The Ritz diesel engine is capable of delivering a mileage of 17.8 kmpl in city and 22.2 kmpl in highways.
