I love Jingle Bells, but all Christmas songs are beautiful. Blessed by Squid Angel.

Thanks for teaching me more about the origins of my favorite Christmas songs. Very interesting. It's only October and I am already enjoying my holiday music. It's never too early to start. :-)

As a young minister, I was asked to lead "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" one sweltering night in July. A Charismatic Catholic nun was preaching and she requested the hymn. As I would come to the end of each verse, she would call to the congregation, "Stop! Do you realize what you're singing? 'Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth!" By the time we got through all four verses, I realized that this hymn has too great a message to keep it cooped up in the Christmas season.

Celtic Woman-O' Come All Ye Faithful, is the first Christmas song I have listened to this holiday season. Beautifully done. Thank you for starting me off, nice choice of music here.
    Happy Holidays!

I guess I love all Christmas music! It just sets me in the mood to celebrate and I suppose you are right, they are a part of some of my fondest childhood memories. Many great songs are featured here and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Oh, Dom! This was indeed an uplifting lens! I actually had tears fill my eyes with that hauntingly beautiful rendition of Oh Come All Ye Faithful (Video by the Celtic women). I sing Christmas songs ALL year long. Thank you also for the histories. This is a beautiful lens! :) Kath

Ah, yes indeed Christmas Carols ... those were the songs that were easy to sing and some of the most memorable.

Very cool lens! Since you're into the history of Christmas carols, check out www.christmassongs.net. They've got some really interesting info on the history of the most popular Christmas songs.

I enjoyed this colourful lens. I like the boxes and the way you have different sized print too.

Lovely! As a kid, I loved it when the carol sheets came out in school instead of the usual hymn books. Silent Night always makes me teary.

Oh I loved this so much I had to stop reading, and listening to the MP3's and go Twitter it :) Not only did I get to hear some great songs, but I learned something about their history! I just watched the Bing Cosby White Christmas special the other day....it made me cry when the General saw all his soldiers at the party, then again when the song White Christmas was sung..
  • prosperity66 Dec 15, 2009 @ 12:33 pm | delete
It was hard to put this together as I listened to the music too... first time to test next just for the pleasure. So... any hard work in there? No, just listening to these marvelous carols and songs!
    Love the White Christmas too!
Thanks, Kathy for the tweet, it's very kind of you!

Great lens Dom. Love Christmas time! Christmas songs are the kind of songs that once you listen to them, they stay in your head all day long. Heard Jingle Bells on the radio today and now I cant get it out of my head...lol.

Love Christmas music. We start listening the day after Thanksgiving and don't stop to the new year. I love your intro image. Your lens is beautiful.

Used to love caroling as a kid. Probably a little to self-conscious to do it now, but I love listening to great Christmas music! 5* and rolling this to Top 10 Christmas CDs

In all honesty, I don't like both Fall and Winter season. Fortunately, there are Halloween and Christmas to help me survive those seasons! And I LOVE hearing Christmas carols everywhere I go. They make me feel so comfortable, relaxed and happy :-)

I love Christmas carols. I start playing them right after Thanksgiving and it is truly a wonderful time of year. The best moment has got to be being in a church at the midnight service on Christmas Eve, surrounded by my family, and singing Silent Night by candle light! Doesn't get much better than that!

I like this - a good festive lens reminding me of singing carols. Perhaps a couple of Youtube clips of singing would be a good enhancement to it? My favourite carol - probably has to be Silent Night.
