Black Gospel Song By Marvin Sapp A Favorite The World Over
The very popular "Never Would Have Made It", was the first gospel song from Marvin Sapp's "Thirsty" CD and it has taken the world by storm! It has topped Gospel music charts and even secular charts. The song resonates with everyone because of its simplicity and honesty. How could any of us make it without God's love and mercy?
Like many great gospel songs, "Never Would Have Made It", comes from a place of sorrow and deep pain. The beloved song was written after the death of Marvin Sapp's father, Henry Lewis Sapp, Jr. Pastor Sapp was responsible for handling his father's funeral and burial. "Never Would Have Made It" was created by divine inspiration the Sunday after his father's burial right in the pulpit of his church.
Pastor Sapp has been singing since the age of four, and has shared the stage with many gospel music artists. He describes himself as "not a singer that happens to preach, but a preacher called by God who is gifted to sing".
"Never Would Have Made It" is one of many black gospel songs that are now a permanent part of Gospel music history because it relates a simple, but universal message that everyone can relate to.

"The Lord said to me, 'Marvin, there's something you need to understand. Although your father isn't with you physically, I will never leave you nor will I forsake you. I will be with you always even until the end of the earth'. Then I walked into the pulpit with my Bible. When God began to assure me that He was there for me, I stood up. I grabbed the microphone and started singing, 'Never Would Have Made It'."

- thank you for the real inspirational song i lost my father too in oct 4 and its really hard for me and my two sister and two brother but this is like it was meant for us we lost our mother six years ago but we through all we had on our father but we lost him to lung ca so thank you again

- God never ceases to amaze me through his spirit,might and power,his ways are n ot our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts but my god he never ceases to amaze me.
The words speak for us all in this song it not only touches our hearts but it can speak for all our situations and circumstances yet through it all we could not make it without him.
I can testify about the lords goodness and his mercy and his graciousness there are times when my back was against a wall but as brother Marvin rightly said he got us through it all,he came through for us in the nick of time when we tried alll things prayed fasted seeked his face and still did not get a response it is not that he was listening butr he was working behind the scenes for you and me.
I had to move out of the home I grew up in and god said if I don't I will grieve and will remain unfullfilled and wither away,I moved out with $40.00TT in my wallet and had to move 7 times but god saw me through it all and still is 1 year later..
