Ranked #11,951 in Food & Cooking, #212,946 overall

Marzipan Citrus

First thing you want to do is get out your marzipan. Your going to want to break off a small piece, and start kneading it. Once its easy to work with, take out lemon yellow gel food coloring (i like to use wilton). Less is more, use a tooth pick, to dip end in yellow gel food coloring. Then knead in hands, until color is evenly distributed.

Marzipan Lemons

Your going to need marzipan, a clean flat surface, wiltons lemon yellow gel food coloring, toothpicks or fork, green air brush or wilton greencolor mist, and brown jimmies. Knead your yellow died marzipan in your hands. Break your marzipan, into evenly divided pieces. Roll it in your hands, until round. Then pinch ends, on both sides, all the way around. It should be shaped like a lemon. Take a jimmy, and press it into pointy ends of lemons. Then take a toothpick, or fork, and begin poking your lemon, all over, to give it realistic grooves. Now take your wilton greencolor spray and spray pointy ends of lemons. Done.

Marzipan Limes

Green colored marzipan, clean flat surface, toothpick or fork, and jimmies. Knead your green colored marzipan in your hands, until pliable. Divide evenly, and take one piece in hands. Roll your green marzipan into a ball. Work ends into a point, make sure its even from all angles. Your end result, should look like a lemon. Put a jimmy, in both pointy ends of lime. Poke lime all over, with a toothpick, or fork. Until you have grooves of a lime. Your done yay!

Marzipan Oranges

Your going to need marzipan, toothpicks or fork, wilton greencolor spray, and jimmies. Color your marzipan, with an even amount of red, and yellow gel food coloring (less is more). Once you've reached desired color, begin to knead marzipan in hands, until pliable. Divide evenly, take a piece and roll into ball. Put two jimmies in orange, one top and one bottom. Now poke with fork or toothpick, all over, until grooves look like an orange. Spray greencolor spray, on top and bottom. Now your done. Yay.

This brings back memories of when I was a child and my mom used to let me help her make miniature marzipan fruit to enter in the county fair. I loved making tiny bunches of bananas the most. Thanks for sharing the recipe also.

My older sister's mother-in-law used to send my brother-in-law with a box of homemade marzipan fruit every Christmas. Being offered a piece or two was one highlight of the Christmas season when I was a kid.

I grew up in a French household, remember the "massepain". I don't remember mixing citrus with it but it sounds very delicious.
