Corporate mascots. That's what we're here to talk about. Famous, hardworking corporate mascots who are there to make commercials bearable and that sometimes even cause me to NOT skip commercials on my DVR. Imagine that.
I am a big fan of everyone from the Geico Gecko to the AFLAC duck. From the Capital One pillagers ("To the neighbors!") to the Dell Dude. Yes, I know it's lame, but you gotta love them.
Admit it! You love 'em too. That's why you're here.
BUT only the best of the best will be inducted into the Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame...
Anyway, this lense is brand new and is just starting to grow and evolve. Check back in a few days for more and more content. I promise, it will be fun...
The Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame
New mascots will be inducted when they receive a sufficient number of votes on the polls which I will run on this lense on a regular basis.
Participate. Vote for your favorite mascot and see it achieve eternal glory!
Pets.com Sock Puppet - true, he had a short career,
but that was not his fault. Alas, a stuffed mascot
cannot choose his master.
At his peak, this unstoppable mascot was interviewed on Good Morning America and even had a balloon
made in his honor at the 1999 Macy's Thanks Giving
Day Parade. Talk about fame.
Better yet, after Pet.com went the way of the Dodo, the dynamic sock puppet found a second career as the mascot of Bar None.
For all this and much more, the Pets.com is a deserving member of the Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame.
If you cannot get enough of this hall of famer mascot, take a look at this page.
The Geico Gecko - this deserving member of the Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame was introduced to
the public in 1999 and quickly amassed a devoted following.
He speaks with a proper British accent, and over
the years has evolved from pleading with the
public to stop confusing him with Geico and into a
devoted spokes creature.
Did you know that one of the people that does Gecko's voice is actor Kelsey Grammer (Frasier)?
Choose the Next Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame Inductee
Based on reader suggestions, the following five corporate mascots submitted to your decision. Please vote: which of the following five mascots should be inducted into the hall of fame.
Corporate Mascot Hall of Fame Submissions
Submit your own favorite mascot for the corporate mascot hall of fame.
All submissions will be put to a vote in a poll on this lense, and the first corporate mascot to reach 10 votes, will be inducted into the hall of fame. Of course, the reader who submits the mascot will receive full credit, and a big mascot HUZZZAAAAH!
(of course, if we get "too much" traffic on this site the required number of votes will rise accordingly)
What are you waiting for? Step right up and submit a mascot.
The first induction poll will begin as soon as we have 3 to 5 candidates
One line submissions will do, but feel free to add your reasons and comments as well.

You Can Always Trust a Gecko
The Taco Bell Dog
The little doggie had everything. Fame, fortune, all the ladies he could handle... now, he's got nothing. I think I saw him pushing a shoppnig cart and drinking out of a paper bag a few weeks ago. Evil corporate masters.
Anyways, this is one of my favorite Taco Bell commercials of all time. I think I need a bigger box... doggie is hunting for Godzilla...
Another favorite is "Sir, Drop the Chalupa, put it down and back away".

This is a great lens. I remeber some of the commercials and the mascots from them always stuck out in my head a little bit. But that is the mark of a great mascot. Even if all you see is a shadow, you know who it is and what they stand for. Brilliant! Posted August 21, 2006 |
