The Greatest T.V. Series Ever Produced

MASH is a 1970 satirical American dark comedy film directed by Robert Altman and based on the novel A Novel About Three Army Doctors by Richard Hooker. It is the only feature film in the M*A*S*H franchise. The film depicts an outfit of medical personnel stationed at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War.

It was later turned into a series. The series is a medical drama/black comedy that was produced by 20th Television Fox for CBS. It follows a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Uijeongbu, South Korea, during the Korean War. M*A*S*H's title sequence featured an instrumental version of the song "Suicide Is Painless", which also appears in the original film.

The series premiered on September 17, 1972, and ended February 28, 1983, with the finale becoming the most-watched television episode in U.S. television history with over 105 million viewers. It is widely considered one of the greatest shows in television history. The show is still broadcast in syndication on various television stations (mostly during the late night/early morning hours). The series spanned 251 episodes and lasted eleven seasons covering a three-year conflict.

I remember the series as one of my favorite T.V. shows back then and eventoday, as I watch reruns daily. It seems that this series is one of the few shows that people can watch over and over again. It brings back a lot of memories [some good ,some painful] of another time. I've often heard that you should not live in the past, but I counter with the statement that if youdo not learn from the past, you are bound to make the same mistakes over and over again. M.A.S.H. was not only the greatest T.V. series ever made, it continues to teach us a few vauable lessons about life that we sometimes tend to forget.
