Making Money with Mashups on WP

Ok for those of you that already know what a mashup is great your learning curve will be much less to put these actions to work for you.

For those that have not hearn of Mashups they are Blogs or Sites that as the name says Mashes information together to perform an action on your site if it be sell or inform others.

We are going to learn how to do both here and make your sight self updating and very "bot" friendly so to get indexed quicker and higher in the search engines.

Ok the first thing you need to do is go to any of the web analysis sites like Google and search out the site ideas that you have to see the volume that your idea has in the search engines.

You are looking for competition and the ammount of times that your idea was searched.

Lets just pick a subject lets say you want to sell wii games a very popular subject these days on the web. And I go to Google you will see that there are 92.9 million competing sights with 134 million results.

Now you want to narrow that down to a niche that you can work yourself into and rank quicker instead of competing with 92.9 million other sites.

So now I have found a subject that fits within this field and narrowed it down to a subject that has 235 thousand competing sites and 292 thousand results returned.

It has a good subject it is very video friendly and there are many articles out there that fit within the chosen subject.

These are the things you will have to think about as you choose the focus of your mashup sight.

Now that you have done that visit the sites on the first 2 pages of your google search and see what they look like and talk about and how they are arranged what there convert process is.

This will help you get some idea's and help you focus down even more on your chosen niche within that market.

Now that you have your idea focused down to what you feel good about your subject site being you will need to do one of two things one is you can go to Wordpress or Open a lens here of Blogger and open an account and use the domain name that you are given or you can go to a company like
Bluehost or one that I use StartLogic
that both give you a free domain with a sign-up for a hosting account. They both have a built in WP called Fantastico where you can work your WP from right on your hosting.

Now that you have done that load and open the Wordpress and get use to how it works and what you can do with it the secret is the plugins and widgets so after you have it open do the things you would normally do choose a templete for the look. Write an intro tell people a little about your site and what they will expect to be getting or learning from being here on your blog.

One thing if you say you are going to tell them or show them or do something for them then do it. I do not mean hold there hand and do 1 do 2 do 3 but follow through with your promises.

Now that you have your Blog up and looking the way you want it to lets put in the content so it will become the automated Blog that updates and works for you. Remember you want to make your blog both informative and fun to be on filling the customer with an enjoyable experience so that they will not only return but will tell there friends Check this out.

Let me show you an idea of what I mean by automated and self updating remember our subject that I used wii this is just an idea and not the exact subject that I found but it will show you more of what I am talking about.

I try not to be like everyone else so go out there and find affiliate programs that are not the norm. There are already alot of ebay sights out there already. And with there new program it is alot more involved to get things going.

I am trying to teach you how to get sites up quickly and in volume as soon as possible. Using these methods you will be able to build a blog in less than an an hour once you get use to it and out out 4 or 5 a day i really all depends on you and your drive to make money.

What I do is find a shopping comparison site out there and find vendors that meet my needs that have API or RSS abilities that will be the key to building your new mashup.

This is just a RSS feed that will update the top selling games, news and rate them. It is not down to just wii games it is just an example to give you an idea of what I am talking about.I had this site open and use it for one of my own mashups.

After you put in place your introduction and have added your self updating articles or news feed then it is time to add into your blog some videos. There is a flow to this I add my video first right on the top so it is the first thing your visiter see's.

Now it is alot easier than it use to be searching out videos and adding them one at a time. There is a great resource that Google has come up with that does two things it will supply you with the latest videos on your subject matter and also allows you to add some adsense to your video's which will bring you in extra income.

I will make this section short and just add a video here for you to see what it is that I am talking about.

First you need to go to Google Adsense and sign up for an account if you do not already have one. Then go to Adsense Setup and then video units follow along and add the information needed grab the code and add it to your Wordpress blog.

One more thing on Squidoo, they do not have the options to have a single self updating youtube vid with adsense attached as you can get with google. To do this it limits your ability to have vids that consistantly updates your blog. And makes money for you.

I do suggest using Wordpress.I cannot stress this enough Video is the future of the web. If you are set on using Squidoo to make your mashup you can add your youtube vids as i have below onto your Squidoo lens they do update but take up more space on your lens.

They do give you the option to add 3 or 6 or 9 vids to your lens. Try not to overwhelm the visitor to your lens with to many. I only added 9 for the purpose of show.If I were in this to make nothing but money I would use the 3 vid choice.

While we are here I want to tell you a few more options to add to your blog that will monitize it even more. While you are at Adsense grab the code for Adsense search and also the code for Adsense content and add them to your blog.

With youtube voting plexo or youtube vids you do not have the constant updating all in one vid that you will have with the Google option along with the adsense option that is added but it will do for the purpose.

You might just need to come on and make a few changes as games are released to update your list. Be creative make it look like something that you yourself would like to visit.

Here you will add your products they can be from any vendor online that supports RSS or API. Sign up for there affiliates program and grab there RSS feed. And add it to your blog.

This is a choice that is for you to make. Look at your options as far as how they pay what the commissions. And do a little research, I know you will come up with a good one that fits your needs. The great thing is if they are not converting just change out a little code and you have for all purposes a new store online.Then ad an RSS or API on the news of the subject that your site is built.

Amazon is a good feed to use it has good products. And also gives great discriptions of there products that can be used as text.They also update every hour so it keeps your content fresh.
