Romance in Mass Effect Is Everywhere
People get attracted by the opposite sex whether it is in real world or digital world. We can't help it. It is in our nature. When a boy expresses his feelings to a girl or the opposite it is totally understandable and natural. When people have feelings for game characters it gets more complicated and it is kind of weird ( but not in the wrong way) .
Human brains are totally remarkable organs, tools or whatever.... Although they DO understand that their beloved ones are just digits they still have feelings for those characters. I ve personally heard of or seen people expressing their feelings to digitized game characters. They know they won't get anything in return but they still do it. To be fair there were a lot of times where I was ( and still I am) attracted by in game absolutely gorgeous looking girls but that was it. Hey do not get me wrong i am not judging or anything.
It sounds strange I know but I will show you why. In Mass Effect series romance has its own place in the story. It doesn't affect it but it is part of it. Romance in Mass effect is one of the greatest features of the game because it adds variety, you can do something different. You can do a gazillion other things but you can also do that as well. It won't help you become a better player but that's one of the things that makes this game different than the rest of the games out there.

At first I thought as a guy this lens should be talking about all the gorgeous girls you could get in a relationship with . But I have discovered that a lot of girls are playing video games. So it wouldn't be fair .This way everyone is happy !!!
Moreover let me tell you something. There isn't not even one female or male that you will desire to have a relationship with ... that has an ugly face or body. They are all absolutely amazing, awesome, gorgeous, fantastic, magnificent, incredible. So making a choice is not easy.
Romance Choices For Boys In Mass Effect 1
In Mass Effect 1 unfortunately you do not have many girls to choose from. You can get involved in heterosexual or xenophilic relationship. Your choices are only 2 girls. The human Ashley Williams or the asari Liara Tsoni. Both of them are fine looking women. They are absolutely gorgeous.
On one hand you have Ashley. A woman from a family with military tradition, she is an excellent warrior and really professional with her relationships when it comes to superior officers like Commander Shepard. Meaning that if you want a relationship with her you have to work a little bit hard. She is really defensive and she doesn't talk about her self or her past very often. Even when you tell her to relax and leave those militaristic ways aside and keep them only for the battlefield her answer is " I am sorry sir my training doesn't allow me not to follow the protocol and get in a more personal relationship with a commanding officer. And if you insist I will have to relieve you off your duties, arrest you and then file a report " . For heaven's glory woman just take a brake in your life once in a while. But this hard to get thing is what it makes it fun. She is really sensitive underneath the hard shell.

Liara Tsoni
On the other hand you have Liara Tsoni. She is an asari meaning she is the most beautiful alien race you will ever find in a game. Asaris are only females, you won't find any male asari. If you are thinking right now how they reproduce that is another matter and not relevant to this lens. They can live more than a 1000 years and Liara right now is 106 years old. Meaning she is still a teenager and a virgin. That's why she is cautious but no so defensive like Ashley. She is a scientist that's why she is interested in how human relationship work. She is not afraid to express her feelings and she is not hard to get.... but you have to be patient with her. She tells you she likes you but she needs time, remember she is a virgin.
When I played Mass Effect 1 the only girl I could get in to a relationship with was Ashley. Whenever I tried to talk to Liara in the ship the game crashed. This stupid bug did not let me to get involved with Liara..who I liked much much much more than any other girl.
In the Citadel there is an asari Consort where you can help her with her troubles and then in return she will give you your ...."reward" . But forget the rest of the girls.
If you won't get involved in any kind of relationship before the major battle you will sleep alone...and there is a video you should definitely watch. It's up to you Remember romances do not affect the story line but they add some spice in your game !!!

Mass Effect 1 Romance Choices For Girls
I will try to describe these choices the best way I can considering that I did not played with a female character. So this module will be based on the experience's of other people. But try to have an open mind ok?
There are 2 choices for the ladies available. One is Kaidan Alenko and the other Liara Tsoni. Yup you read it right. I told you to keep an open mind and you shouldn't be confused. As I have already said there are no male asaris so Liara getting involved with a woman is only natural.
Kaidan is a human lieutenant who uses biotics, that is special powers. He wasn't the most useful teammate for me, maybe he will be for you. He is a good officer and most of the times he won't have a problem talking about his past. He is always caring for others, polite and faithful. Sorry I can't tell you more about Kaidan.
For Liara nothing changes really, getting involved with a female is natual and normal to her.

Romance Choices For Boys In Mass Effect 2
As with everything else in Mass Effect 2 there is so much variety,choices and decisions that you will lose your mind. So the script writers asked themselves "in the first part of the game players had only 2 choices,why not add some more possible lovers in this part? ". So they added 3 basic possible romances for every sex, PLUS 3 more possible BISEXUAL lovers !!!!
Oh man that's why I love this game . it is an adult game, and I am not meaning erotic or dirty or whatever I mean mature. It imitates real life in some weird way. Right now I will discuss only the 3 basic choices for both sexes and the other 3 in a separate module. But some of the girls have screws loosed in their heads, they ve got a lot of issues and character problems.
Let's talk about those magnificent ladies. All of them are totally different with no similarities to their characters at all. Their only similarities are that they are females and part of the ship crew. Nothing else. Those girls are Miranda Lawson (human), Tali Zorah vas Neema (quarrian) and Jack (just Jack also a human).
Miranda Lawson
Oohhh Miranda !!!!
When I first saw Miranda I wide opened my eyes and I think I drooled a little bit. The woman is PERFECT !!! Miranda is genetically engineered to BE perfect. That means perfect body, face, brain (but not personality) . She has an exceptionally beautiful face, an even greater body, she is really intelligent plus she is a hard ass (literally and metaphorically) in the battlefield !!! I mean what else a man wants?
When I first met her the first thing I said and trust me I did was " oohh man I am totally going for that girl I do not care about the rest of the girls, and I should send a thank you email to the developers because I am happy and I loved the game even more".
Well everything was great until she opened her mouth and I instantly found out why she was sparkling in the light. BECAUSE SHE IS AN ICE QUEEN. Shepard has to work with her and when you will put yourself in danger and under gunfire you must know who is standing next to you and fighting with you. She behaves like an ice pillar, like she has no feelings at all . I have to admit her professionalism is really high when it comes to business..
But if you want to make her feel something, you have to work really hard, you have to sweat . She turns you on and off and she is killing your hope, and that my friends is really,really annoying. The woman has feelings all right but she is so defensive,so cautious that it is really scary.
She takes the "hard to get" thing to a whole new level. But you will rewarded in the end....big time...trust me....!!! Ok enough about Miranda.

Now let's talk about Jack. First of all Jack is a girl, a weird looking girl but she is a girl. I have to admit that during the briefing of the mission I thought we were talking about a guy. And when I saw Jack I totally fell off the sky. He was not only turned out to be a she, and she was weird looking,thinking and behaving.
Ok about Jack. She is a psychotic, unstable, unpredictable, distorted, twisted and sick in mind person. As long she has tattoos and her body pierced actually I do not care.... :D !!! She is a fierce warrior with no fear and really dangerous so all that makes her a great asset in battle. She is got a lot of issues, a really, really, really troubled past and present and life in general, a criminal record so long that you could make an encyclopedia,. she is wanted all over the galaxy (hmm did I forget something?).
She doesn't open up easily or I should better say at all.... you have to work even harder than Miranda to even have a normal conversation with her. She turns you on and off really easily BUT the difference is that she is honest and straightforward. She is not looking for friends or lovers.
BUT under all this protective barrier she has built over the years hides a really sensitive, scared and lost woman who is looking for someone to really care about her. Pushing the right buttons and proving that you care about her and she will really be your friend and lover. Break her heart and you will end up dead. Literally.

Our last girl is Tali. She is an adventurer, a warrior (with tons of fighting experience), a genius (when it comes to machines and technology none is better than her) and a total mystery.
She is the sweetest alien you will ever meet. She is caring, faithful, thoughtful, innocent, polite, unbelievably calm, honest, trustworthy, sensitive,intelligent, easy going, and a sexy virgin. She has no problem talking about her self, or her past or her people, she is an open book...just ask her anything you want.
If she doesn't want to answer a question she will tell that straight away with incredible politeness. With the rest of the girls you have to work from the outside to the inside. With Tali it is the other way around. First you meet the person and IF everything is in order you will get the body. Isn't this the ultimate relationship utopia for women?
And that's about it....!!! No really I do not know how she looks like, none is!!! Tali is a quarrian and she has to wear since the day she's born an environmental suit, which keeps her alive. Their immune systems are totally destroyed, it is like AIDS is part of their genetic code !!!!!!!! So there is not even one picture of how they look like......!!!!

- yeah it is possible to end the game without any relationships....in game romance options just add some spice to the overall experience....thats all...it doesnt not play a vital role in the plot......
liara...huh? although she is an excellent choice and a brilliant girl....there are way too many other options available....to stick only with liara

- We have a friend who met and married a character on Ever Quest - he was in Canada, she in the states, but it turned out that she had married about six other characters previously lol - they parallel played the game on side by side computers for awhile, then she left him for a new character.

- I'm a HUGE Mass Effect fan and enjoyed this entirely. I actually saved the game before the Omega 4 relay mission...which means...you can sleep with everyone!!! Wooo. Haha. But no Jack is the way to go once you really get to know her, but Tali is awesome as well.

- loool i did the same.....i really liked jack ( i love girls with tattoos and anything that is not...lets say....normal) i slept with her while i was playing with miranda...and u should see the fight between miranda and jack....after my little adventure with jack ....awesome....after that .miranda shut me off.... but that was ok because i had saved the game and i slept with her before that....lool......but i couldnt resist tali. man....such a sweet girl.....i was so freaking curious.....
