Massage Therapy = Health, Relaxation, Healing & Well-Being

There has been a surge of interest in the last couple of years in nontraditional medicine with much of that interest focused on massage and the numerous types of massage available. Trained and state certified massage therapists have become a primary answer to the climbing rates of stress related illness and everyday aches and pains associated with other medical conditions. It's not uncommon to find a doctor and a massage therapist working side by side and in some cases working in the same office.

Self Massage is a great thing to practice between your visits with the massage therapist. Stretching and yoga are closely aligned with massage with both disciplines focusing on the elongation of the muscatels and the gentle manipulation of the knots and tight spots we each find at the end of a long day.

Swedish Massage

perfect for the relief of daily stress

Swedish Massage is a frequently found in spas and commonly prescribed for stress relief and relaxation and not for deep or chronic pain relief, it is a gentle treatment that focuses on using long strokes, kneading and friction. Swedish massage coaxes the oxygen levels within the body to rise while aiding the release of toxins in the body. The masseuse coaxes the body using gentle pressure to relax and become cleansed.

Hot Stone Massage

the relaxing feeling from hot stones or gems

The masseuse heats stones usually made of basalt, though sometimes gems are used in warm water prior to using them for the massage.

Reiki Massage

perfect for the whole office staff

You are fully dressed, on a massage table or seated while the healer holds his/her hands on or above you. A treatment can last an hour or longer depending on the treatment required. In the western world many practitioners use the standard hand positions and commonly a full treatment is given covering all the important organs of the body. There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions.

Shiatsu Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage, sometimes called Trigger Point Therapy or Neuromuscular Massage are the way to go if you are seeking relief for pain. Knots that develop within muscles can cause a radiating pain to travel other parts of the body not directly related to the point or trigger of the pain. A well trained massage therapist can find the source of the pain and help you get your life back.

Ok... What Are the Benefits of Massage?

too many to count but here are the top five

Relaxation: Of course the first things most people talk about when they mention massage is how relaxed they become during and after the massage. The deep kneading of your skin, muscles and nerves stretches and elongates your whole body which lets the energy flow more freely and releases both tension and toxins. You feel renewed and ready to engage life with gusto.

Range of Motion Everyone has bumped or twisted some part of their body, it may have happened during a sports activity or maybe while moving that heavy couch in the living room but I'm sure the next day as you hobbled around from chore to chore you wished you could have that moment to do over. Massage can hasten your healing when you can't lift your arm or put your weight on a bum knee. Not only will massage speed up recovery but there is a good chance the massage professional can teach you ways to get around differently and with less pain then you may have thought possible.

Clarity of Thinking Stress, agitation, aches and generally being out of sorts can hamper how effective you are at your job or how well you communicate with your family and friends. We sometimes forget that the well-being of our thinking is directly related to how our body and emotions are doing that day. Have a masseuse work with your body, mind and spirit will dramatically jump start your clarity of thinking by adding balance to the function of the body and mind. A massage treats the whole being (holistic) leave the self refreshed and ready to jump in with both feet to whatever happens.
