Massage Therapy is an Investment in your Health

More than a Temporary escape

Just as you need daily exercise and a healthy diet, massage therapy is vital to your health.
So many people turn to and look for temporary solutions when dealing with their pain and the stress that creeps in to their lives.
These temporary solutions do not promote healing and wellness or treat the body as a whole. Those solutions just cover up what ails you. They are indeed just "temporary". BUT, you have choices. And...There IS a better choice. Feel better through holistic Massage Therapy.

Massage Therapy, also referred to as bodywork,
treats your whole being affecting your mind, body and soul. I offer a wide range of services that can be tailored to your preferences and your schedule. With Massage Therapy, you achieve both physical and emotional benefits. You will have a more balanced perspective as you face the demands of your life.

More and more people are turning to therapeutic massage as a way to provide relaxation, relieve tension associated with the daily stresses of their busy lives, to help maintain good health and wellness, to treat medical conditions and to achieve a balanced lifestyle. While periodic therapeutic massage does enhance your well being, you can expect to feel the continued benefits of therapeutic massage from multiple therapy sessions when treating a condition.

Massage Therapy is much more than a temporary escape.
It is an opportunity to nurture a healthier lifestyle and promote healing and wellness. You are sure to feel refreshed and relaxed... calming your mind and rejuvenating your body.

How Does Massage Therapy Work?

Massage Therapy is Vital to Your Health

Massage therapy works the superficial and deep layers of skin, muscle and organs of the body and elongates muscle tissues that have contracted from overuse; lack of use, illness, injury and unhealthy lifestyles. Massage causes relaxation and mechanical responses in your body. Your nervous system responds through the massage techniques used and by physical touch. When pressure is applied to the soft tissue of the body a physical result occurs. These responses produce the physical and emotional benefits of massage therapy.

When your body is able to have relief from pain, your body responds by relaxing. This allows your heart rate and breathing to slow down. Your blood pressure also responds by going down and the stress hormones your body creates decreases. Your muscles are able to relax. Massage has been shown to increase the body's production of pain-killing endorphins and the mood-altering hormone serotonin. This becomes a positive affect on your emotions. This elevates stress, which can be associated with some symptoms such as: hypertension, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, and digestive disorders

It can also slow the release of the stress hormone cortisol. Massage is often used as therapy for people whose immune systems are compromised by stress.

Massage Therapy manipulates the soft tissue of the body, which increases blood and lymph circulation. This relaxes the muscles, tissues, tendons and ligaments, which in turn, releases nerves and deeper connective tissues. When the body has improved circulation, oxygen and nutrients supplied to the cells is enhanced, which leads to toxins and waste being removed from the body.

We know that massage therapy relaxes muscle tissue. When your muscles are in knots, when they are in spasm, it usually means that your muscles are in a contracted state. That can also create the nerves around them to be compressed. Massage Therapy relaxes the muscles, which in turn relaxes the compressed nerves. This process improves the function of your muscles and organs. They can obtain nutrients and perform appropriately.

Everything within our body is connected Organs, muscles, bones and nerves. If one is in distress, that can create another distress or dysfunction.

Can Massage Therapy Help You?

Including Massage Therapy, as part of your regular self-care is an investment in your health.

Massage Therapy can help you take charge of your health and well-being. People choose Massage Therapy for a variety of reasons. Some need relaxation to relieve stress, while others need therapy for varied health conditions. The greatest benefits you will experience from Massage Therapy is over time. The more often you get a massage, the better you will feel and your body will respond more quickly. From one session to the next, relaxation deepens as the chronic patterns of stress in the body are affected and released. If you are getting massaged to address chronic muscular tension or recovery from a soft tissue injury, more than one session is usually needed.

Research has also been done that reveals Massage Therapy can help with many medical conditions. If you suffer from Arthritis, TMJ, Fibromyalgia, Allergies/Asthma, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, Depression or Musculo-Skeletal Disorders, you too can benefit from Massage Therapy.

The manipulation of soft tissue by way of Massage Therapy affects our bodily systems: muscular, nervous, circulatory and immune. Many health problems and concerns can benefit from Massage Therapy. Therapeutic massage is more than a luxury. Massage Therapy offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself.

About Me

I have studied at one of the best schools in New Jersey. The American Institute of Alternative Medicine offers the most complete and comprehensive Medical Massage and Spa Therapy program in New Jersey.

Being able to help someone in any way always brought me pleasure. I like to 'pay it forward' so to speak. Now being able to help someone alleviate their pain and discomfort, helping them live a more stress free and healthy life is truly wonderful. Knowing I can pass the benefits of Massage Therapy to a client with my own hands is an overwhelming good feeling. While I am providing massage therapy to a client, it relaxes me as well. My positive and relaxed energy passes right through to my client.

Studying human anatomy allows me to find muscle tension and imbalance within the body. I can then incorporate various techniques to allow the muscle to relax.

I offer a range of massage therapy services. I tailor a Massage Therapy session to meet each individual's unique needs. I offer hands on experience and will have a total of over 600 hours of formal instruction.

My goal and mission is to provide lasting support for all my clients. Learning new techniques and taking continuing education classes' will enable me to continue to enhance the lives of my clients.
