Matchstick Kits
Most people mistakenly think that matchstick modeling is a hobby for boring old men that have nothing better to do, but as you will see this is an incredible world famous art that can literally make thousands of dollars for the modeler.
Virtually anything can be made out of matchsticks and is only limited by your imagination!

Matchstick kits was one of my hobbies as a kid and I had almost completely forgotten about it until one day I by chance came across a site promoting the art of matchstick construction and I was bitten by the bug again! Was was fascinating is that the site was selling the very same matchstick models that i used to make - except now it is 30 years later!
Have you ever had that feeling of seeing an old friend again? Well that was the feeling I got when I saw the pictures of the model matchsticks.
So I decided to jump back into my old passion and I am waiting for my new matchstick kit to be delivered to me. Hopefully it will be here in a few days!
I was further inspired to start construction again when I saw that one enormous matchstick kit of St Paul's Cathedral was being for about $30,000. Not that caught my attention!

So I decided to do two things:1) Start building matchstick kits again
2) Document what I am doing and show it to the world
So if you would like to learn more about this fun hobby visit my great Matchstick Kits blog and see what me and the world get up too.
If you would like to join me in building, maybe we can start our own club together.
Titanic Matchstick Kits
Matchstick titanic model (nearly done)
Titanic scale (1:115) matchstick model by tim elkins nearly finished, only railings davits and portholes to finish. Thousands of hours to create this model from 150000 matchsticks, no templates or card backing everything out of matches. This model is a one off and will be sold on compleation as I never intended to keep her myself, just wanted to know if I could make such a model. I would like it to be on show somewhere, we shall just have to see what happens.
