Why choose reusable cloth menstrual pads?
I'm Jenn, the creator of Matersum cloth pads and I want to help you discover the benefits of reusable menstrual products because I honestly, truly believe in them.
But really? Cloth menstrual pads? You're thinking, "Euw?", right?
Nah. Reusable cloth pads are not as gross as you may think. They're really easy to care for, more comfortable for you during a time when comfort is oh-so-important, and they're friendlier to this earth. Once you get past the initial "ick" factor, using cloth pads become as natural as having a period itself!

What's special about Matersum pads?
There are a lot of pad makers out there now. How does one choose?
I use a "turned-and-top-stitched method because I find it is more durable and more comfortable. True, it takes longer to see than a serged pad, but I find the end result more pleasing. I also devised a channel stitch which has become my signature mark. A few pad makers have since copied it, but it remains my tag that I use on special occasions. The stitch is a set of double crescents crossing the entire absorbent core. It is first and foremost functional: the stitching helps to prevent bunching and also channels the flow effectively around the pad. The stitching secondly is aesthetic: representative of our cycles, guided by the moon. Fun, no?
