Matt Groening vs. Seth MacFarlane
Some of your favorite shows are probably run by one of these two guys! But which one's better? I'll let you decide!
Matt Groening: Matt Groening is a famous cartoonist and producer. His best known cartoons are The Simpsons and Futurama.
Seth MacFarlane: Seth MacFarlane is a well known producer and voice actor. He's known for creating the cartoons Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show.
The Simpsons
These guys have been around a long time! They've been an official show on fox since 1989,and there's been almost 500 episodes and over 20 seasons! The characters Homer, Marge, Maggie, Lisa, and Bart were thought up by Matt Groening to represent the average American family as well as his own, struggling family at the time. A combination of witty humor, multiple diverse characters, and even some people we can relate to makes this cartoon a great way to sit back and relax; that's if you can manage to hold back the laughter.
Futurama
By looking at this shows title, one could guess that it's about the future. Well you'd be correct, but the show is so much more than just that. Phillip J. Fry, a NYC pizza boy of the twentieth century, is frozen and ends up in NYC during the year 3000, and his world turns upside down. This show debuting in 1999 is full of unique characters from mutants to lobster-aliens making this show really special. The advanced setting and the technologies used, like home owned spaceships and transportation tubes, are another addition you don't see in every show. Futurama can be seen as just as funny as The Simpsons by some, if not funnier, but it has it's own unique twist.
Family Guy
A talking dog, an evil talking baby, celebrities, perverts, a handicapped cop, dumbasses; wow, honestly, I love this show. Seth MacFarlane uses a mixes hilarious cut-off scenes with hysterical characters, making this show to die for. He even plays the voice of many characters in the show, like Stewie, Peter, Brian, Quagmire, and many others. Family Guy covers topics that other shows wouldn't dare touch, including religion, sex, and politics, and they're covered in comical yet truthful ways as well. Most people that don't mind some cut-off scenes and mature content truly love this show. This toon has been around since 1998, and hopefully it will be around in the future.
American Dad
If you're anti conservative, then you may not like Stan smith from American Dad, a passionate conservative CIA agent, but you'd still probably like the show and even think that Stan adds a nice touch to this hilarious series. Seth MacFarlane also voices some of the characters in this cartoon including Stan and the alien Roger, who ironically lives with Stan although the CIA searches for extra-terrestrial. Although cutaway scenes aren't used like they are in Family Guy, American Dad has still been seen as funny for it's crazy situations and MacFarlane's genius, since 2005.
The Cleveland Show
If you love Cleveland Brown from Family Guy, then why not love him in The Cleveland Show as well? The Cleveland show is a spin-off of Family Guy, airing in 2009, where the show features The Griffin's neighbor, Cleveland Brown, and Cleveland's son, Cleveland Jr., as well as their new family made up of Cleveland's wife Donna, and his two step kids, Roberta and Rallo or "black Stewie". Seth MacFarlane does an amusing job at making a show featuring an African American family, considering that he's nice black himself, and anyone can love this show and it's new characters like Tim the Bear and Lester the hillbilly.
