Who is Matt Smith: Dr Who

Matt Who? Matt Smith is Doctor Who
Meet Matt Smith (born 28 October, 1982), the actor chosen to take over the role of Dr Who from David Tennant. He is the eleventh actor to star as the lead in the long running hit series, produced in the United Kingdom since 1963.
He is the youngest ever to play the part since Peter Davison, who took on the role at the age of 29 in the early Eighties.
Speculation among fans about his ability to play the iconic figure at such a young age was rife following the announcement made in early January, 2009.
However, having watched him, he has easily put his own stamp on the role and won over the hearts of most of the fans of the show, including myself.

I must begetting old as the Doctors are continually getting younger! Bring back the more mature ones like Tom Baker or Jon Pertwee!
Having said that, I do have faith that they have chosen an actor that can bring style and panache as well as skill to the role

I think Matt Smith makes a great Doctor Who. His age is fine. The only problem I have with ages in the show is that Alex seems a bit too old for him. I love Alex as River Song, though. Sometimes it just seems like Matt Smith is her boy toy. Oh, well. What is age to a Time Lord anyway?

JMaltman says:
He's been great, and we needed some refreshing youth after Tennant's character was an old, exhausted, lonely soul ready for a fresh start.

- Well done lens! I was worried about Matt a bit when he came in, but he settled in quickly - it was the Fallen Angels episode where he really stepped into his own, and the end of that season is when he took over the role completely.

- I have to admit he is probably my least favorite Doctor. I much preferred the older series when it was more dark and scary. Now everyone just laughs and jokes about the dire mess they are in and the sonic screwdriver is the cure for all evils. Everything just happens too fast as well. Great lens though, blessed.
