Matthew Legare - The Man, The Myth, the Lensmaster (the hype!)
Once he got a taste for the stage, he never stopped chewing the scenery. Now he comes to Squidoo, driven by a need to mouth off about topics he knows a thing or two about - Magic, Theatre, Books, Renaissance Faires, Computers, random internet things... and anything else they will let him get away with!
A bit more background may be in order...
Matthew bounced around from state to state in his formative years - 26 moves before he graduated (his third) high school in 1985. He started dabbling in magic during his early teens - a pretty common time to do so according to Mentalist and overall Magic Genius Person Max Maven - but set it aside till the time came for him to find a way to cover his expenses when participating in one of the many Renaissance Faires in Northern California. In 2001, the Tobias the Adequate magic show was born, and Matthew lept headfirst into the world of magic with a lack of fear and / or foresight which is pretty par for the course for the guy. He's spent quite a bit of time and money getting up to his elbows in the industry, doing shows at fairs and festivals all up and down the west coast of the United States of America, and writing short, occasionally pithy articles about what he's found, his opinions, experiences, and random speculation.
And then someone told him about Squidoo. Well, I hope you're satisfied!

Books on Magic History for Non-Magicians

While Magic's secrets are closely guarded by their keepers, its history isn't a secret - just obscure. I've picked out some great books on magic history, written by great writers. You don't have to be a full fledged "Magic Geek" to enjoy these books...
