How To Take Care Of Your Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches

Whilst relatively new on the market, Maurice Lacroix mens watches are taking their share of the market. The quality of these watches is more than obvious and the innovation of the watchmakers shines through when looking at one of the masterpieces. The mechanical watches are superior in that they have the addition of chronographs, moon phase indicators and retrograde displays as part of their makeup. There is no lack of style and craftsmanship in these classy timepieces.
Watch bracelets are usually not custom made and therefore usually require some adjustment. It is often possible to adjust the bracelet using the spring-loaded pin that is in the clasp of the bracelet. When you want to adjust your watch bracelet, do it on a cloth to prevent the pin from falling out and flying to the other side of the room. It should be quite easy to find a suitable hole that is comfortable. This also applies to watches that have screws that attach the links. If you have a watch with screws, it is imperative that you find a screwdriver that is of exactly the right size.

If you have a watch with too few holes, it is often too big. This is often the case with leather straps. Unless you have the proper leather punch, it would be a good idea to take the watch to someone who has the right tools.

If you have a manual wind watch, you should try to wind it up at the same time of the day. Winding your watch in the morning will ensure that your watch has optimum power during the day, resulting in better timekeeping.

Do not attempt to wind up the watch whilst it is still on your wrist, rather take it off and then wind it up. By not taking off the watch, you put strain on the strap and the winding system of the watch.

You should wind your watch at a consistently slow speed until you feel the mainspring tighten and resist. Pushing it further than the point of resistance could damage the components, as well as the mainspring. Gently, slow winding strokes are best for your watch.

Sometimes, the cheaper automatic watches stop and they may not have the winding stem to get them going again. If this happens, gently swing the watch in an arc for a short while. Turning it slowly on the winder for a few minutes can start up watches with a manual wind function.

The watches can be water resistance and how resistant is indicated either on the watch itself or the packaging of the watch. You will see something like: WR30, this indicates it is water resistant to a depth of 30M. If it says WR200M then it is resistant to a depth of 200M. The depth is not as important so the type of water that the watch is exposed to. Hot, soapy, chlorinated or water with detergents in is bad for the seals of the watch. Clean your watch with clean cool water after exposing your watch to any kind of water.

Magnets could also make your watch magnetized, which could result in strange behavior. If your watch gets discordant after you have worked on a computer or the magnetic seal around the door of a freezer, relax as it can be fixed. A watchmaker will have demagnetizing equipment to sort the trouble in no time.

Whether your watch is a cheap imitation or an expensive watch, you should look after it. Mechanical and quarts watches alike need proper attention in order to make them last a long time. These timepieces are incredibly durable, especially when you follow the above tips. You will love your new men's wrist watches.
