International Men's magazine powerhouse Maxim debuted in the UK in May of 1995 with Lisa Snowdon gracing the first issue. Two years later the first American edition hit newstands with Christa Miller as the first cover model. Known equally for it's patented brand of humour and sexy pictorials Maxim quickly became the kingdaddy of Men's magazines lording over chief competitors GQ, Esquire, and Details.
