Elusive as it may appear getting web traffic or more importantly targeted web traffic to your website need not and should not be as problematic as it would appear from the outset.As with all things a little knowledge goes a heck of a long way and armed with the know it all you can save yourself a lot of frustration and lost time.

~ KEYWORD IS KING: Assuming you have chosen a product or theme for your website you now want to see web traffic in droves hit that site just sitting back and waiting just isn't going to cut it. ~ Article Articles Articles! articles as with your website should be structured alike, if but on a smaller scale with good content and keyword deployment after all its using the same art on how to attain web traffic increase. These can by done manually by yourself or outsourced if so inclined to someone more professional if you don't feel your good enough. Having got the article to submit and happy with it you should find places to submit the article. This is most important as it is your advert/s for the website after all if you set up shop in an obscure part of town how would you raise your profile and location but via advertising so to with online profile. Submit as many articles as possible to as many article based sites as you can find remember these are going to provide you with good backlinking to your site and hence raise your profile / rank online

Consider social networking sites a real must for getting seen ie twitter and facebook ,I shouldwarn though that you do not overdo it on twitter or facebook ,and even videos on youtube. (nb do not waste your time submitting to article sites with no follow as it defeats the purpose of trying to get backlinks.)

Search Engine Submission: You should also submit your website itself to as many search engines as possible such as alexa, altavista, alltheweb, right through to webcrawler.

I haven't mentioned automated software so far as I am trying to keep things very much in the realm of a DO IT YOURSELF aspect but I should for those inclined to spend money they can pay for the services of an automated software to take out the drudge of manual submission, but be warned this can make the search engines suspicious you could on the other hand pay an SEO However I would stress if you take this option that you find out if the SEO submits to the artcle directories manually or again you can hire a freelancer who will do the submission for you manually of course.

Buying Web Traffic: Buying website traffic can get expensive ie google can offer you keywords but for a price. This falls into bidding for that phrase or keyword so you can lose money in the process. A far better option is to approach smaller companies and individuals who offer paid advertising schemes, you will get better value for money however you will have to beware as will some are good while others are downright crooks. This kind of advertising is best as you are drawing in visitors from sources related to your own website enough said there.
So you might ask what works for the better and I'm afraid no one rule fits all but we can say things depend on YOUR WEBSITE ,YOUR SELLERS WEBSITE fixed text link and fixed banner advertising are good forms of housekeeping for your draw on web traffic this will consequently boost your ranking in all the major search engines ie if the seller is highly ranked then your site will also benefit.
To round thing up I should warn never ever spam and by that I mean any form of unwanted email, plainly put if you send a person an email without permission then that is spam, its not worth it you will just end up getting blacklisted.
Never copy another persons site or articles verbatim sure you can view them and learn from them but add your own twist
