How To Cook Great Barbecue!
Welcome to Max's Rib Pit. Hello, my name is Bill and I am 24 years old. I am from a small town in Michigan where we keep our grills going 365 days a year. Even the snow cannot stop us! I have been around Barbecue throughout my life and have been cooking my own Barbecue for three years now. I have found passion and a true love in grilling and smoking meat. I am new to this but I am good and devote my time to finding new techniques to make Barbecue better every time I grill. Through this lens I want to share that with you and give you tips on how to make your Barbecue a crowd-pleaser!

Smoking Ribs
24 hours before smoking meat apply your rub to the meat and rub it in good. The most effective way is to use your hands.Approximately 30-40 minutes before you place your meat in the smoker be sure to start your fire. Let it get going good.
After the smoke is rolling- place meat on and let cook at 200-220 degrees for about 5 hours.
Check the meat occasionally.
After 5 hours you can start applying your sauce to the meat and repeat during the following hour.
Ribs can be taken out of the smoker anytime after six hours.
*Remember: The longer you leave the ribs smoking, the more tender the meat will be. Enjoy.
Different Wood To Smoke With.
Apple: this is a lighter, mild smokeCherry: this wood provides a sweet, mild flavor.
Hickory: this wood provides a strong smoke flavor.
Maple: sweet flavor for ham and poultry.
Mesquite: this woods burns hot, has a strong flavor and provides a lot of smoke.
Oak - is not as strong as hickory, but not as light as Apple.
Im sure there are many other different types of wood to use but these are the ones i use and have experience with.
