Why Makes the Mayan Calendar Prophecy Believable?
Could an ancient civilization really predict the end of the world?
When considering whether the Mayan Calendar End Times 2012 could be accurate, we have to think about just who the ancient Mayans were. Were they simply barbaric practitioners of human sacrifice and did their calendar end simply because that's as far into the future as they could comprehend?Hardly.
Though ancient, the Mayan civilization was an advanced one. The Mayans were brilliant architects, astronomers and mathematicians. The magnificence of their buildings is hard to deny. They invented a mathematical calculator. They were experts at tracking the movement of the patterns in the sky. They used their knowledge of math and science to create a calendar which was 3,500 years long.
Finally, the ancient Mayans apparently understood that time is cyclical, not linear. Unless you are familiar with quantum physics, this is a difficult & advanced concept.
