About my Soap
How its made and the love that goes in it.
Handmade soaps are different from those you buy that are commercially made because for one thing, handmade soap is REAL soap.Commercially made soaps are nothing more than detergent bars that irritate, and dry out skin making you need to use a lotion which often dont work because it contains alcohol which we all know dries out skin even more.
None of my products contain alcohol. I put in all natural UNREFINED Shea butter when the soap is cool enough to put my hands in it. That way the heat doesnt break down any of the moisturizing properties of the shea butter. At this point is when I add in my fragrance oils or essential oils too. This keeps the smell from changing because its not undergoing tremendous heat like it would in a cold process soap.
My soap is Hot process meaning I process it different than some soap makers. I cook the lye out of the soap rather than let the soap sit for 6 weeks(cold process) to discharge the lye. When I put my hands in the soap to mix it, color, it and add fragrance and shea butter I know that soap is ready to take to the shower now. There is no lye left in it at all....it would eat my hands off if there was lye in it LOL
My soaps are molded in wooden molds and PVC pipes. Each round soap is about 3 inches wide, just the right size for your hand. I cut all my soaps to weigh no less that 3 ounces and usually no more than 4.5 ounces. I have so many complaints that they last too long so I started cutting them a bit smaller
With daily use you can expect to get about 1.5 to 2 weeks out of each bar. They are very long lasting and with the added shea butter leaves your skin soft and silky, not dried out and tight. You will feel squeaky clean but soft as a baby's butt at the same time.
Each soap is wrapped and packaged in wax paper to keep all the smelly goodness inside. I have created my own colorful labels I tape on each soap with my website address on the back.
Your soap will arrive to you fresh and smelling STRONG. I scent my soaps at normally 1 ounce of fragrance oil per pound and a half of soap. If the fragrance oil is super strong I use less of course. I love a strong smelling soap and I love smelling like my soap all day like a perfume. I have had reports of knowing my package was in the mailbox before opening the mailbox, they are scented THAT good. No weak scents in my shop! You WILL smell like this all day long I promise!

Does it REALLY work?
My laundry soaps are eco friendly I am proud to say. This is pure scented soap shredded and has added borax and washing soda to clean your laundry like its never been cleaned before. There is nothing in this soap that will harm the environment at all. its just soap...So if your looking for a safe alternative to chemical laundry soaps try out some handmade laundry soap.
It only takes 1 tablespoon per large load...yes I am not making it up thats ALL it takes. You can add in 2 tablespoons for really bad stuff.
I have had this soap get out mud, blood (dried),grass, chocolate, tomato sauce, and a host of other things with no pretreating! I throw dirty items in the wash, set it on hot and use my 2 tablespoons of soap and add in some borax and let it wash on the longest cycle. I was amazed when the blood came out of a white shirt from my sons nosebleed.
I do recommend using a product like 20 Mule Team Borax with this laundry soap just to give it some extra kick, especially in super dirty loads of laundry or with your whites.Borax can even be found at Wal-Mart in the laundry soap isle. Its usually on the very top shelf with the Oxy Clean stuff...that works great too! I would also recommend using Oxygen cleaner in place of Borax as well.
The way I sell my laundry soaps is I shred up an already made bar of soap that weighs three to four ounces and add in the borax and stuff. This is what you get when you order my laundry soap. Your laundry will smell like whatever soap you prefer...now where can you get laundry soap that smells like your favorite Victorias Secret scent? Right here! And all your designer scents? Right here. I do take special requests as well so feel free to hit me up on my Etsy shop or my Artfire shop.

Things you never knew about soap
This is the article on Wikipedia about soap. It describes the cold process and hot process method and also some history of soap making. Did you know the first soaps were made by Islamic Chemists? Pretty cool huh? Read on for more exciting info!
Soap is an anionic surfactant used in conjunction with water for washing and cleaning, which historically comes either in solid bars or in the form of a viscous liquid.
Soap consists of sodium or potassium salts of fatty acids and is obtained by reacting common oils or fats with a strong alkaline solution (the base, popularly referred to as lye) in a process known as saponification. The fats are hydrolyzed by the base, yielding alkali salts of fatty acids (crude soap) and glycerol.
Today, soap is often replaced by other cleaning agents, such as synthetic detergents.
