Summer Lens Challenge

RocketMoms is a wonderful way to challenge yourself and to increase your knowledge of Squidoo. I started RocketMoms during their second session and during that session I really grew in my knowledge of Squidoo. A great side benefit was that I made some wonderful online friends along the way.

I participated in several of the challenges during that first year but then time constraints kept me away from the challenges for a while. I stayed active in RocketMoms by participating in several of their groups. In particular I am active in the Zazzle group and the RocketMoms Income Booster group. Both of the groups have produced a wealth of knowledge and sharing of ideas with other RocketMoms.

This summer I again participated in the RocketMoms challenge and I am really glad that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed creating the lenses for the various topics and I even won a LOTD(Lens of the Day) on one of my lenses. I am thrilled to be graduating in the Summer Session 2011!

Challenge #1

About Me

The first lens in the challenge was to do an About Me lens. I have done several of these lenses in the past so I was finding it hard to figure out what I could do that was different. I lived in several different locations during my career and I think the places I have lived contributed to shaping me as a person. With that in mind I created my lens about one of the places I lived during two different periods of my life.

It's all about Fall

Fall is my favorite season so this topic was one of my favorites. I love photography so I decided to write a lens on ideas for fall photography.

Challenge #3

travel lens

I have written a lot of travel lenses and I have been trying to put them together into a lensography. I had several lenses on Illinois so decided to my an Illinois lens for this challenge.

top 10 lens

Top 10 lists are always a fun way to do a lens. I drew upon my love for reading for this lens and wrote about my favorite books that I have read in 2011.
I was extremely happy when this lens my LOTD(Lens of the Day). Thank you to all of my many visitors. I appreciate your support.

Challenge #5

Monkey Brain

This was my first Monkey Brain lens and I really wasn't sure how to go about it. I visited several of the other lenses as they were made and then took the leap and started my own. My parents used to own a cut and choose tree farm so I used that as the basis for this debate.

Education

The last challenge was to do an education lens. My granddaughters had just started school and I saw their excitement over getting new school supplies. This lens was based on what they liked and needed for school.

Favorite Challenge

I really liked the summer challenge session. Most of lenses came rather easy to me this time, but I also learned a new skill in creating a Monkey Brain lens. It would be hard for me to pick my favorite challenge, I like the fall challenge because I could use so many of my photos and ideas and I like the top ten challenge for my LOTD. If I would have to pick one favorite I would say the Monkey Brain, because it took me out of my comfort zone and taught me a new skill.

    My life kept me too busy this summer to complete the session, but I love looking at all the cool stuff the Rocket Moms accomplished! Congrats on the LOTD! =D

    Yeah, another RocketMoms Graduate. I think my favorite challenge was the Fall lens but the one that I had to work the most on was the Hey Monkey brain lens - I dislike those a lot.
