Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, MBSR

Stress, Stress Reduction, Stress Management, call it what you will there is no doubt that stress plays an important part in our busy lives today. So where does mindfulness come in and what is mindfulness anyway? Stress is caused by many factors and can dominate our lives, eventually making us ill if we ignore it for long enough. One key factor in stress is time. We never have enough of it do we - but actually, all we have is right now, this moment - so live it fully.

What we do is lose the now while worrying about the past or the future, our need to be "doing" rather than just "being". Mindfulness is a powerful personal practise based upon meditation, the acceptance of the "now" and the separation of the true "You" from your "thinking" self. Your thoughts are not you, they are just thoughts. When combined with cognitive therapy techniques (MBCT) it can be very releasing and empowering, particularly in stress reduction and life management. At the Paloma Centre we take a holistic view to emotional and psychological healing and use many different therapies in combination to effect the greatest change in stress levels.

The Paloma Centre here in Banbury has the counselling, coaching and personal therapy support systems such as CBT, Hypnotherapy,NLP, psychotherapy and EFT to help you, and Life Coaching to take you into your future.

We can control our thoughts more than we believe. It is very empowering when folks feel 'in-control' of their lives again. Thank you for the education. Stay well, Rose

My favorite memory of a Zen buddhist's comment awhile back to me was, "Thoughts occur in your mind because that's what minds do: create thoughts." The more I practice mindfulness the more I meet life sans stress signals. I've let my habit of meditation lapse somewhat, but when I do, the quality of my thoughts improves. Great topic.

"Your thoughts are not you, they are just thoughts", what a powerful statement. We don't have to be led around by whatever pops in our heads. Mindfulness therapy sounds like a life saving tool in today's stress filled world.
