The McDonald's McRib Sandwich - A Taste of Heaven
The McRib is a very rare McDonald's sandwich made with the stuff that gets dropped behind the deep fryer. About once every two years, the newest employee at each McDonald's franchise is bet $3 that he can't fill a bucket with that fried, greasy gunk. The employee will succeed in filling the bucket and earn his $3, and the stuff in the bucket is the magical ingredient used in the McRib sandwich.
The McRib may look like a real pork rib, but it's actually made by pouring the liquid goop in a mold that's in the shape of a pork rib with exactly 4 rib "ridges" on each sandwich. After the mixture hardens into the rib shape, it's coated with bar-b-que sauce and topped with pickle slices and onions and served on a 6 inch bun.
The McRib tastes like it's been blessed by the gods, which it has. Since it's introduction in 1981, the McRib has satisfied millions of hungry customers, and darn near all of them have survived!
UPDATE: In mid-December, 2008, I received news that McRibs had been spotted in the wild around the U.S. in limited markets. Orlando, Florida now has the McRib, along with a McDonald's at a truck stop in Iowa (a 2nd McRib is just a dollar more, and if you ask politely they'll stack it on one bun)
