MDA Family Needs Your Help

Hi. I am the mother of Jason Mackey who was born with Nemaline Myopathy Neuromuscular Disease (one of the diseases covered by MDA). Jason is 13, is in a wheelchair, has a trach and ventilator, and has home nursing care.

Each year we give back to our community in some way. We generally contribute as much as we can save for: BACH (Brazoria County Association for Citizens with Handicaps), The Pregnancy Help Center, MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association), and Salvation Army. In addition, we consistently give clothing and household item donations to World In Need.

My family and I are asking for donations for the purchase of a wheelchair van with lift. Our goal is $36,000. Any kind gesture would be greatly appreciated because we are a low-income, disabled family who doesn't make enough money to finance a van on our own.
