Final Fantasy Series
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!"-- Auron, From Final Fantasy X.
If you are an RPG fan, you probably have heard of The Final Fantasy series. This has been the leading RPG since the beginning of it's release back in 1987, but the big breakthrough came ten years later, in January,31 1997 to be exact , when Square Soft released Final Fantasy VII on Playstation 1.
I can't call myself an "RPG Fan", because I didn't play many games in that genre, or to be exact, I have never played an RPG for more than one hour, except for Final Fantasy, the game(s) that completely took over me since the first time I play it

The begenning with Final Fantasy VII
"Are sins... ever forgiven?"...Cloud Strife
I got the game in 2002 (yeah, that's five years after it's release, I live in Yemen after all :P), at that time, I wasn't a hardcore gamer, I only spend few hours a week plying one of the stupid games I had, but I couldn't say that about myself when I launched FFVII and stunned in front of the TV for hours a day after that.I gotta say that it was too difficult for me to finish it, not only because it was the first time I play an RPG, but because the game was in Japanese !!!
I had to keep a notebook beside me to write (actually to draw) the Japanese symbols with functions functions. The notebook was full of thing like @#$% = FIRE! ^_^
Things are getting better with FF VIII and IX
"Even if the world becomes your enemy... I'll be your knight, I'll protect you."...Squall Lionheart from FFVII
Just After I finished FFVII, I started asking everyone I know about the series and whether there's a new installment or not. The good news was "Yes", and I got my hands on FFVIII, but the bad news was that I am too freak'n LATE!!!, in 2002, the series was already in it's 11th installement, and guess what, it's an MMORPG! That was depressed.Anyway, I decided to focus on what I have and started played FFVIII, this time the game was in English :P, so it was too easy and fun to finish it, and this time I knew that FF series in not too good because the graphics or GamePlay, it's the story that makes it so special.
Right after I finish it, I started playing FFIX, this installment was a little different, a main character with a tail :P but overall, the game was amazing.
Final Fantasy Moves to Play Station 2, FFX/X-2 and FFXII
" Listen to my story... This may be our last chance."...Tidus from FFX
I had to wait until 2007 to play FFX (released in 2001) and FFXII (released in 2006), and those two installments were worth the waiting and the work I had to do in order to get them.FFX was (and still) the best game I've ever played. The graphics were amazing for that time, the gameplay was too freak'n awesome, and the story,,, was the best thing and perhaps, the most mysterious in all the series.
The success of FFX led to the release of FFX-2, a sequel of FFX, and let's just say that it was,,,, hmmmm ,,,, GOOD.
After months of playing FFX and FFX-2 (completed 105% more than one time ^^) I started playing FFXII, and as always, the game completely took over me.
FFXII introduced a new Gamplay and a new Battle System that made the battle more beautiful. The best thing about this installment is the ultimate bosses who had millions of HP.
Moving to Play Station 3 with FFXIII
'We live to make the impossible possible!' ..Lightning
Going Online with FFXIV
FFXIV is the second FF game to be online, I couldn't play the one, FFXI, so FFXIV was the first MMORPG I play. I gotta say that it was too difficult for me in the start, but I am doing well now and I am looking forward to see the new changes in the game from the new development team.
