Grilling Shish Kabobs
Although me cooking on a grill is NOT my favorite thing to do, I personally believe grill cooking is a way for a man to shine his talent for cooking! Honestly, have you known a man that said he did not grill the best (YOU PLACE THE ITEM HERE) in the world! I personally have not.
I do love preparing the food and getting it ready for the grill! I also like to utilize all of the space on a grill when it is fired up. So this lens is about making a meal on a stick and a couple side dishes!

Cooking can be healthy on the grill. Sometimes reading about different recipes will encourage us to break out the grill and come up with some fantastic new creation!
Soak your Skewers for about 20 minutes if you are using the wooden ones.
If this is a recipe you will use a good bit, you may want to invest in the metal skewers which are not real expensive, and reuseable.
Let's cook some Kabobs!!
I use to take FULL advantage of making these kabobs and use to allow my brother and sister each name 2 or 3 of their favorite vegetable and those vegetables is what we used. Here were some of our favorite things to use:
-Cherry Tomatoes
-Broccoli
-cauliflower
-Quartered Vidalia Onions
-Pineapple chunks
-Mushrooms (my brother did NOT like them at all)
-Sweet Red Peppers
-Sliced Corn on the Cob
Both of them loved corn on the cob, so a few times we would take a corn cob and cut it into thick slices. If you use corn slices try to pre cook them for a few minutes.
Clean, cut and place everything in separate containers.
Skewers
We used chicken more so than beef.
I would clean some skinless, boneless chicken breast. Slice them into pretty thick pieces, place in a zip lock bag.
It would just depend what I would marinade the chicken in, but at that time it was pineapple juice and BBQ sauce mixture with brown sugar. Today I would Ms. Dash Spicey Teriyake because it has no MSG and is Salt-Free.
Marinade the chicken pieces for about 20 minutes or so.
WhiteOak Art Designs
After your chicken is done marinating, set up an assembly line and start placing the items in on the stick alternating, chicken, vegetable, and fruit and so on. Lightly spray the kabobs with a light olive oil and sprinkle some seasonings over each of them.
They are ready to cook!!
Okay the Main item is cooking.. Let's get some dessert ready.
Pineapple Kabob Cake!!I promise this dessert is SO Good!! Cube up some pound cake. Make sure the chunks are pretty big. Again using skewers, alternate adding cake and pineapple until the skewer is filled.
Mix together:
Pineapple Juice
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Touch of nutmeg
Spread over the kabobs
They are ready to cook!! Watch these closely when you are grilling them because the objective is to toast the cake.
They are SO GOOD!! Yummy!

Baking dishes...
Baked Beans-Do you love'em?
Mix together:
Ketchup
Mustard
Brown Sugar
Pepper
Worcestershire Sauce
Touch of Red Wine Vinegar
Sauté some sweet onions in olive oil butter and add to mixture
Add some Organic Black Beans or if you want use pork-n-beans. Mix together, put into a baking dish that has been lightly sprayed with oil, sprinkle some real bacon pieces over the top, cover with foil and put on the grill!
Tea Pitchers
Top everything off with your favorite ice tea!!
Bring 2 quartz of distilled water to boil. Add a mixture of your favorite herbs, this is one of my favorite combinations! 2 Teaspoons of Green Green, 2 teaspoons of rose petals, 2 teaspoons of spearmint, 2 teaspoons of chamomile. After the water has boiled, add the herbs, cover and let it steep 20 minutes. Strain out the herbs using cheese cloth, put in a nice pitcher and chill it. Serve with ice and mint leaves. This is very refreshing!!
