The Meaning of The Color Red - Introduction
Red is most commonly seen as the color of warning or danger. Sayings like "caught red-handed" and "in the red" are used to signify potential trouble in the word of criminal law or finances. Red is also one of the colors associated with Valentine's Day and a gift of red roses signifies love and romance. The color red can mean many different things in different societies and is even seen by some as a helpful color.

Red and the Root Chakra
According to Hindu beliefs, the color red is associated with the root chakra located at the base of your spine. This chakra is a person's grounding force and is associated with survival instincts, self esteem, loyalty and security. If you feel yourself "spacing off," focusing on something red like a cherry lollipop or an apple may help. Feng Shui is a Chinese technique for adding a beneficial decorating scheme to your home. It places importance on the placement of particular colors and elements for health, prosperity and good fortune. In this scheme, red and fire elements should be placed to the south of a particular home or room to help bring a healthy romance, luck and happiness. It is also associated with fame and riches.
