That's a good idea to create your own cookbook. It's something you could pass down for the next generation.Although, if you want it to last it would need be hard cover bound.

I'm all for using software to make cooking easier. I might try out the living cook book for recipe stuff. However, I already use a grocery list program at http://www.GroceryWiz.com

Hi, ad101. Great idea. We print ours out and spiral bind them. We make a graphical front cover and back cover and laminate them. You can do it yourself. You'll need a puncher and spiral binder from a local office supply store. Works a charm. If you don't want to go that route, take it to a Kinkos and they'll do it for you. We make so many of them, it just made sense to get the equipment and do it ourselves. If you are producing the cookbook to sell, we have found that our local stores prefer a printed and bound cookbook over a CD. You can make your own cookbook and either sell them directly to the store or they may prefer to put them in on consignment.

I used to eat a lot of meatloaf growing up, but now that we eat "fancier" food, I don't eat it much any more.

Publishing your own cookbook is a great idea and not that difficult to do, especially with software available today like Living Cookbook Software. And it's a great way to keep the family recipes alive and pass from generation to generation.

I particularly like the feature that links to the RDI tables for nutritional information.

Here's another idea to create your own cookbook online (and it won't cost you anything).

Thanks for the helpful cookbook information.
