Media Streaming Devices 2011

There have been quite a few media streaming boxes as of late that i am only going to cover the top 3 media streaming and multimedia players in this lens. These top 3 media streamers are currently the best media streamers and players that you can buy today!

The reason that they are the best is because of a number of factors IE: Ease of use, picture and sound quality,simple set-up, and the number of file types that they can play.

There are going to be quite a few different reasons why you might be thinking of buying a media streamer, either to just play any stored content from your laptop such as home videos and photos, to wanting to store your whole DVD collection for easy viewing on your big screen TV!

If you are the type of person that like to tinker with all sorts of set-up options and does not mind spending hours getting your media streaming box to perform the way you want it too then i am afraid this lens may not be for you!

Another great feature of this media device is the fact that there is a social aspect to the boxee box that other media streamers do not have, you can see what your friends like watching and also recommend other programs and online content for them to watch, and they can also recommend programs and other stuff for you too watch as well!

All this makes the amount of content you can watch and share huge! you will probably never run out of stuff to watch ever again:)

When you first get your Boxee Box the only thing you need to do to get it running is to first take it out of the box! then plugin your hdmi cable into the back of the boxee box and then connect the other end to your hd tv, Then plugin your boxee box to the socket on your wall and switch it on, then all you do is follow the simple on-screen instructions and your boxee box will be set-up and all you have left to do is sit back and enjoy all the great media content that you can watch!

The next great media streaming device is the Apple TV, if you are a fan of Apple electronic products then you are going to like this one!

A usual Apple know how to make a media device small, simple but at the same time look sexy! They have achieved it again with the Apple TV Media Streamer and Player! Not only does the apple TV look great but it also uses less energy to run than a night light! unbelievable.

The obvious thing to start with is the fact that you can stream HD movies and music from the iTunes store so if you already use that then this will be easy for you to get going quickly.

The Apple TV also has built in wireless so that you do not have to go and buy additional wireless dongle, you can also plug in a Ethernet cable which in my opinion is still the best way to go to get the best performance from a media streamer.

The Apple TV also features something called Airplay! What is Airplay?
In simple terms Airplay lets you stream media content that you might be watching on your iPhone directly to your apple TV so that you can watch them on a big screen HD TV!

For Apple fans then the Apple TV is a no brainer and the only way to go.

WD TV is well known for producing media streaming devices that you can hook up simply to your LCD TV and start watching content streamed either over the internet or from your PC or Laptop!

The WDTV 1TB Live Hub contains a big 1 terra-byte hard drive so that you can store your home media directly onto this media streaming device.which is a great addition if you want to store your whole DVD collection!

On top of that you can also stream content that is stored on your laptop or desk top computer to the WD TV live hub to watch directly onto your television.

The only downside to this media streaming device is the fact that you have to buy a wireless dongle if you want to stream wirelesly, which is a bit of a pain, but like i have said before it is much better to use an Ethernet cable if good quality streaming is what you want.

Another few good things about this device is that you can connect a USB drive to add to the already massive 1TB hard drive space, and you can also connect other devices such as a camera, HD camcorder for easy viewing of your home movies! And also a Network Drive if you have one.
