I was recently rushed to hospital and realized that my husband of over 15 years KNEW I had an allergy BUT thought it was penicillin when I'm in fact allergic to asprin. B i g difference (not very impressed!). He did, however, know which auto-immune disease I have - phew! there's hope for him yet ;)

What if I had been unable to talk and my family weren't with me? (actually my family being with me wouldn't have helped with my allergy - that's going to take some living down!)

I'm not sure if hospitals have a universal color code, but I was given a red bracelet to indicate I had an allergy. Other colors were used to distinguish between other problems - I never found out what, but I'm guessing things like being diabetic or on warfarin.

- I should probably get me one of these some day, they sure are so much nicer that before, I keep a list of all my meds, allergies and doctors (isn't getting old wonderful LOL) in my wallet and carry it everywhere with me. - Kathy

- Great idea for a lens! Don't feel bad, I 'd be surprised if my husband remembered any of my medical information beyond the fact that I have asthma. I hope your feeling better!!
