Major Cause Of Tinnitus

"Tinnitus From Exposure to Noise Is BY FAR the MOST COMMON cause of tinnitus."

That quote comes from our Tinnitus Remedies website at and is certainly worth examining further.

Just what do I mean by exposure to noise?

* If you have ever left a bar or a party with your ears ringing, you have been exposed to noise.

* If you have spent much time in clubs, you have been exposed to noise.

* If you have been in a motor accident where the airbags have been deployed, you have been exposed to noise.

* Have you worked in a loud factory or a noisy environment?

Often we are exposed to loud, sudden noises (such as fireworks or gunfire) that we have no control over. These occurrences can and DO cause cochlear damage that can lead to hearing loss and tinnitus.

Discover the root cause of your tinnitus and you WILL get the relief you need.

What causes tinnitus?

Ringing in the ears, whistling, buzzing, tinkling sounds, all common symptoms of tinnitus; and tinnitus, we are led to believe, is a symptom itself as a result of problems elsewhere in the body or mind.

Causes of tinnitus; there appear to be a few; some undetectable; some unrecognisable; some very obvious, and each having a different method of treatment.

Some medics state that stress causes tinnitus, that severe emotional and/or physical stress is guilty of damaging the ear drum. Some say that causes of tinnitus relate to constant exposure to loud noise, and others state that a small plug of wax in the ear is also a common cause.

Causes of tinnitus
Are often related to neck and head injury, maybe the result of a car accident, a fall, physical abuse, mental abuse, or the devastating involvement of a bomb blast, either the noise from the blast itself or the following emotional trauma.

With the exception of rare medical cases, everyone has body hair. The root of body hair lies just below the epidermis. Hair is obvious on arms, legs, eyebrows etc., but within the ear, causes of tinnitus can be due to damage of hair particles and nerves that of course we would never see, these are the tiny hairs visible only by microscope that move in response to sound waves; notice we are coming back to a sound issue; damaged hairs become stressed and irritated, and within the ear canal, the damaged hairs produce sound impulses in the brain; these are the sounds that the tinnitus sufferer will hear.

Tinnitus causes disruption of daily life, tinnitus causes lack of sleep, loss of concentration, depression, intolerance, and mood swings; sometimes to the point of damaging relationships, like many other conditions, whilst it can be intolerable for the sufferer, those living with and caring for the tinnitus sufferer, i.e. spouse/partner/family, reach a point where they can no longer cope with the behaviour and mood patterns, and through no fault of their own, relationships can sadly break down.
Causes of tinnitus will be an ongoing investigation in the hope of one day fully understanding the condition and finding a real cure.

Here are some some additional information regarding COCHLEA DAMAGE INDUCED TINNITUS resulting mostly from exposure to noise.

Actually give you some insight into what actually happens when cochlea

damage occurs as a result of exposure to noise.

There are some of the fifteen thousand microscopic sensory hair

cells in the the Organ of Corti which are very fragile and are

easily damaged.

There are three tiny bones that vibrate and act as amplifiers, in

fact probably the beat amplifiers ever invented.

Corti
If you look at the illustration shown
you will get a better idea of what I am talking about.

When the movement of the tiny bones
in the middle ear vibrate the oval window of the cochlea, waves are
created in the fluid surrounding the cochlea.

These waves bend the basilar membrane in place corresponding to specific frequencies.

Hair cells in those places then brush against the overlying tectorial membrane (shown in blue) generating an electrical impulse which gets sent to the brain. The brain interprets those electrical impulses as sound. The nerve endings are shown in yellow in the illustration.

When the tiny hairs and nerve
endings become damaged as a result of exposure to noise, high frequency
hearing loss and tinnitus often results.

I hope this helps you somewhat.

Preventing Tinnitus:

How to prevent tinnitus

Click here for 11 Proven Remedies For Tinnitus

Prevention is the number one way to avoid the causes of tinnitus. Protecting yourself from the initial cause will help ensure that you will not suffer from the disease worsening. This is very common. Some people thing tinnitus will not affect them and they are careless with their ears. Hearing is not something you want to mess around with. Life with out sound is a lonely one and when there is a chorus of ringing and buzzing to go along with the silence it could absolutely drive you insane.

The reason tinnitus sets in has to do with the inner working of your ears and your auditory nerve. This nerve cell is crucial for your hearing and the prevention of many other very painful effects of messing with that nerve. There are a plethora of miniature hairs deep in the depths of your inner ear. These little hairs are very important because they assist in the process of the brain interpreting the pressure of sound waves into what your brain comprehends. Loud noises over a period of time can harm these hairs. The noise will bend or break these hairs and interfere with the movement that generates the cell to discharge an electric current through the auditory nerve.

That sounds confusing but in short the damage to the hairs allows noise to leak into your auditory nerve in the form of that annoying buzzing sound. The damage to these hairs can greatly further the effects of hearing loss in old age. One other thing to consider when trying to decipher the cause of your tinnitus is how loud and how often you listen to music through your headphones. The constant loud noise being so close to your inner ears can be very damaging and further the tinnitus.

There are a very high percentage of people all over the world that take over the counter or prescription drugs on a daily basis. The side effects of certain kinds of drugs can range from drowsiness to vomiting. Tinnitus could be one of the side effects that go along with some of these drugs. Be sure and talk to your doctor before starting any over the counter of prescription medicine to be sure tinnitus will not be in your future. One of the most commonly used drugs that can have a side effect of tinnitus is aspirin.

It is very important to review and school yourself on all of the side effects that go along with any drug that you consume. Some side effects of some drugs can be detrimental to your health and could eventually be fatal if used in the wrong way. Your doctor can and should by obligation inform you of any side effects that might come along with the drugs that you may be taking. You can also talk to your pharmacist if you have any questions about what the side effects are of any drug you might be taking.

Tinnitus is only a side effect of aspirin if it is used in excess causing an overdose. Aspirin should not be given to children to reduce any of the symptoms of the flu such as a fever. This can potentially be fatal in some cases. It is called Reyes syndrome and it can also affect teenagers.
If you have had treatment of hypertension or edema, you may have had loop diuretics. The drug that is used to treat these could potentially cause tinnitus. Hypertension and edema are usually associated with congestive heart failure.

Quinine is another drug that could potentially have the side effect of tinnitus. Quinine was first used to treat malaria and is still used today to treat some strings of malaria in specific situations. This is not a commonly used drug to treat malaria, but it could show up in your future medications. Preventing small pox could be another reason why you might use the drug quinine. Your doctor may also prescribe you quinine if you have complained about leg cramps interrupting your sleep or are suffering from arthritis. Other uses for quinine are to reduce fever, relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Amino glycosides are used to treat bacterial diseases that you probably have not heard of but can possibly cause tinnitus as well. Tinnitus is not guaranteed to be a side effect of these drugs but is a definite possibility and should be kept in consideration.

There are also a number of diseases that tinnitus could possibly be a symptom of. These diseases can range from being serious and out of your control or minor and a disease that is manageable. A lot of these diseases can be prevented with simple lifestyle changes. A healthier diet and some exercise can change your life drastically and to your advantage.

Otosclerosis is a disease that affects the bones that support the area around the temple. These bones are referred to as the temporal bones. This is a very sensitive part of the human head and should always be taken to a serious degree. Otosclerosis causes these bones to deteriorate with the consequence of losing some or all of your hearing. This can also cause headaches that will be very painful almost to the extent of a migraine. Along with loss of hearing will come tinnitus. The tinnitus will be very apparent because of the loss of hearing. Silence amplifies the ringing or buzzing sound that is constantly pounding through your head.

TMJ is a disease that affects the jaw and cranium areas. The joint that is affects is the joint we use to eat, talk, chew and swallow. The pressure and force that is caused by TMJ can affect the nerves on either side of the head and cause a very uncomfortable problem. This is a painful disease that could potentially have the symptom tinnitus.

Acoustic neuroma is a problem that involves a cranial tumor. The tumor that grows in or around the auditory system is usually not a life-threatening tumor. In some rare cases the tumor can grow to the size where it can eventually become life threatening, but there is always surgery that can remove it from your head completely. This affecting the nerves in the head can result in the symptom tinnitus.

Menieres disease is a health issue that concerns the structure of the inner ear. This is a disease where tinnitus is one of the primary symptoms. The other major symptom experienced when suffering from menieres disease is extreme dizziness. It is, in most cases, confined to one ear and is accompanied by severe loss of hearing.

Lyme disease is one that most people have had experience with or are familiar. Lyme disease, also known as borrelosis, is the result of a bacterial infection due to a tick bite. Lyme disease is very serious and should not be taken lightly. The kind of tick that causes Lyme disease may vary and should be taken seriously.

Is There A New Cure for Tinnitus?

Tinnitus affects thousands of people, it can be quite debilitating and those suffering from the condition are usually sensitive to loud noises and sometimes loss of balance. Sleep patterns are often interrupted which in turn can affect the sufferers daily life dramatically. There are many medical universities around the world studying and researching in the hope of finding a new tinnitus cure.

So what is the new tinnitus cure?
Actually there are many studies underway; one in particular is the use of stem cells, currently being tested for a host of neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease.

This research, hopefully, will also help in the treatment of deafness and other types of hearing loss aswell as become a new cure for tinnitus.

Stem cells are generally taken from embryos and converted into different types of cells, but in this case; for the human ear, it is thought that stem cells taken from sensory nerves could be re-grown in the area of the ear that shows signs of damage.

An early indication for this procedure to become a new tinnitus cure looks promising.

With various bodies seeking a new tinnitus cure, there is often conflict between organisations, each believing that 'they' are developing 'the' new cure for tinnitus. Various methods are being tested apart from stem cell re-growth, one being the use of algorithms.

A simplistic description is that this technique involves a series of tests; for example there may be 6 processes for a particular test, therefore carrying them out in order - 1 to 6 - seems the most logical thing to do.

However, if this does not prove to be successful tinnitus cure, it seems prudent to go back to process 1 but follow it by process 3 for instance, thereby switching the processes around until a satisfactory combination is found.

Using this new cure for tinnitus technique...

Algorithms can be individually customised for each patient; and used as a treatment for tinnitus would involve delivery of sound patterns via a digital processor in the hope of retraining the neurological senses linked to the ear which might cure tinnitus.

New Tinnitus Cure Conclusions
We are now seeing a similarity between the stem cell process and the algorithm process; both involving the neurological senses or nerves - with tinnitus living somewhere along the neural network.

This tinnitus cure, as with most cures it seems, will in any event be based upon science and mathematics.

As with most treatments that involve tinnitus, growing new stem cells is still very much in the infancy stage and is not really to be taken seriously at this stage hence the growing popularity of our tinnitus remedies.

It will also be prohibitively expensive for a long time to come which puts it out of the reach of the average tinnitus sufferer.

Treatment for Ringing Ears

Click Here for some great Treatment Options...

Sadly, in most cases, there is no specific best treatment for ringing in the ears, such as tinnitus. Some sufferers of the ringing in ears syndrome seek the opinion of a specialist in otolaryngology, (commonly known as ENT; ear, nose and throat).

In this field, extensive tests are carried out by a trained physician in an effort to determine the cause of the debilitating ringing in the ears, however, this is not always successful; the use of medication varies and several may be tried, but as of today, medication alone is not seen as the best treatment for ringing in ears.

Natural Treatment For Ringing in the Ears
Not all causes of the condition are fully understood making it extremely difficult to determine the best treatment for ringing in the ears, there is no simple wonder drug, and it seems that no single drug is effective on its own when treating the ringing in the ears. Other therapies are often tried, including hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, habituation and homeopathy.

Some of these tinnitus therapies however have shown a dramatic improvement in a patient's quality of life, is this the path that will actually prove to be the best natural treatment for ringing in the ears along with similar conditions?

Cranial osteopathy is quite popular and has shown some long term success, no single physician professes this to be 'the' cure or 'the' best treatment for ringing in the ears, but it is very much worth considering. Stress and tension can create different types of bodily problems, and research shows that these elements can disrupt the body's cranial rhythm; gentle manipulation of the spine and skull can help restore the balance of cranial rhythms, thus relieving the condition...

Ear Ringing Treatment

Before the ear ringing treatment of tinnitus, an evaluation should be administered by an ear, nose, and throat physician. This evaluation defines what kind of ear ringing treatment if any is needed.

The underlying cause of the problem determines what kind of ear ringing treatment to administer. Damage to the hearing organ causes tinnitus in a great number of the cases. In such cases, there is normally no need for an ear ringing treatment. Many therapies for tinnitus require some patience and time to see relief.

Also a combination of treatments, by many patients has been more effective than a single therapy. If you are bothered by tinnitus only when trying to sleep, a radio on low volume or the sound of a fan will usually relieve the problem.

Stay away from caffeine in various food forms. Use ear plugs for hearing protection and avoid loud noises especially if you have hearing loss. For most people tinnitus is allowed to fade into the background by simply ignoring it.

If by chance, it is caused by a tumor or aneurysm, that condition will have to be treated before treating the tinnitus condition. In other words, if the tinnitus is caused by a treatable condition, once the condition is treated, tinnitus sometimes goes away.

However, treating the main condition sometimes does not alleviate the tinnitus problem. There are only a few cases of tinnitus that are caused by identifiable, repairable medical conditions.

Sometimes a person with a hearing loss can experience some relief from the condition by an ear ringing treatment such as wearing a hearing aid. Biofeedback, a relaxation technique teaches people how to control certain autonomic body functions, such things as, pulse, muscle tension, and skin temperature.

The goal of this technique is to control body stress. Stress elevates tinnitus, so relaxation is one ear ringing treatment that may prove to be fruitful. Cochlear Implants, an electrical stimulation, are used in some as an ear ringing treatment for tinnitus.

This ear ringing treatment is used in deaf and near deaf patience because electrode implantation destroys health hair cells left inside the cochlea. You and your health care provider have to decide which ear ringing treatment is best for you.

The American Tinnitus Association does not and cannot recommend an ear ringing treatment or drug for you to use. There are so many variables surrounding medications, including side effects that it is best for patients to decide for themselves if unpleasant side effects are worth the exchange for tinnitus relief. Even more so some drugs actually include tinnitus as a side effect.

Could this be the best treatment for ringing in ears?
Some music companies are now producing natural sounds of Mother Earth; it may be the sound of waves gently lapping the shore, birds singing, or a gentle breeze brushing through the trees.

It is thought that listening to such sounds can re-train the brain into a much calmer mode and alleviate some of the symptoms of conditions such as tinnitus.
In days of old, Mother Nature was considered to be the best remedy for anything, whilst we live largely in a scientific world, perhaps it could be that Mother Nature proves to be the best treatment for ringing in the ears.

Alternative medicine for Tinnitus

What is alternative medicine for tinnitus?

Click Here for some great Alternate Medicine Options...

A practice outside the realms of conventional medical methods; it includes different philosophies and beliefs not always condoned by the General Practitioner, but is slowly becoming more accepted. Anyone considering alternative tinnitus medicine for instance, will be astounded at the number of different remedies that are available.

Whilst seeking alternative medicines for tinnitus...

We should remember that alternative (or complimentary) remedies should only be carried out by a recognised registered practitioner, trained to the same standards that we would expect any medical practitioner to be.

Both alternative and complimentary medicines fall into the category of holistic therapy, and a holistic check up is quite different from having a doctor take a pulse or place a stethoscope on the chest. Holistic care involves all aspects of the body, i.e. not just the physical body; it is not uncommon to discover the cause of tinnitus in some patients to be a physiological issue which has become habitual.

One form of therapy that may be considered for example is cognitive behavioural therapy, which, with working with a counsellor can alter negative thought patterns, i.e. convert a negative into a positive and change the emotional reaction to tinnitus. Whilst this is not a conventional medicine from a bottle, it is deemed to be a positive alternative tinnitus medicine that works well on an individual basis.

Global drug companies earn massive profits every year via the production of medicines that suppress symptoms, but these drugs should perhaps not be seen as alternative medicines for tinnitus, they can perhaps be toxic substances able to cause damage to the natural immune system. The more we understand the significance of treating the whole body, the more we understand the innate ability of our bodies to heal themselves when treated in a holistic way.

What are your options when looking for an alternative medicine for tinnitus?
On the basis that no one particular system answers every medical problem, holistic therapy is a recognised alternative tinnitus medicine, as well as a vast range of other conditions, and great emphasis is placed on the openness and willingness to try some of the many available remedies.

Alternative medicines for tinnitus - Try the holistic approach and open yourself to a whole new world of education.

Finding Relief From Tinnitus & Ringing Ears

Is there such a thing as new tinnitus relief you may ask, there is an army of pharmaceutical companies worldwide wanting to produce 'the' new form of relief. So when you see an article or advertisement displaying new relief for tinnitus maybe in the USA, there will more than likely be a similar counterpart in the UK or China.

New Tinnitus Relief Treatments
When trying any new tinnitus relief products or remedies, remember they usually require an investment of time and patience before becoming effective, and some patients find a combination of treatments to be more effective.

Also remember, that if you have not tried anything so far, then everything you do try is new tinnitus relief. Ten percent of China's population (almost 130 million) suffer tinnitus; it is no great shock therefore, that many of the alternative potions and remedies were masterminded by Chinese elders.
Traditional Chinese medicine comes in many forms, to treat many conditions, and whilst its history goes back hundreds of years, in the western world it is seen as relatively new, bringing new ideas, new procedures and most likely an effective relief for tinnitus. We can all benefit from the insight of both Chinese culture and human biology, but if you suffer from this condition, you will know how devastating it can be both psychologically and emotionally...
you will be waiting for yet another breakthrough in new tinnitus relief.

So is there really any new relief for tinnitus?
There is always new ground to cover, always new alternatives to try - from intravenous injection to a foul smelling potion heated on a hob; if you have never tried it, it's new, if you have never heard of it, it's new; face the condition with a positive attitude and if you do hear of new tinnitus relief treatment - try it !

Natural treatment for Tinnitus

Finding the right natural tinnitus treatment

Click Here to try Natural treatment for Tinnitus...

Herbal and homeopathic tinnitus remedies are extremely popular and natural treatments for tinnitus, often bringing relief without the side effects or complications associated with prescription drugs.

Ginkgo Biloba extract for instance is an effective, well tolerated natural tinnitus treatment that has shown more proven results than other clinically tested herbal treatments for tinnitus.

Ginkgo Biloba (also known as Maidenhair) is processed from leaves of what is said to be the oldest tree on earth, and has been used for centuries by the Chinese as a natural tinnitus treatment.

Whilst not effective in every single patient, the proven benefits far outweigh any risks.

Simple natural tinnitus treatment steps...
Whilst tinnitus can be a difficult condition to manage, there are a few other approaches to consider. Taking steps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, reducing stress and increasing the immune system are all beneficial tasks to undertake.

In this instance, introducing vitamins as another natural tinnitus treatment can greatly encourage the immune system to self heal and assist what could otherwise be a long and tedious journey to recovery.
Both vitamins and minerals are essential for proper bodily functioning; they are not naturally produced by the body and should therefore come from a good diet with the addition of supplements. Using supplementary natural substances as a form of natural treatment for tinnitus can only aid the immune system response and recovery of sensory cells.
Vitamins A, C, E, and the B group have all been assessed as a natural treatment for tinnitus, and with so many choices and options available, it would make sense for the sufferer to take sound homeopathic advice.

Probably, the most natural tinnitus treatment is relaxation.

Relaxation may not cure tinnitus but the sufferer is taking a positive step in controlling the condition and perhaps changes their response to it. Whether it be quietly reading a book or going through a physical relaxation process, the sufferer will be emotionally calmer, mentally refreshed (which in itself can increase concentration) and physically relaxed.

Natural treatments for tinnitus are really in abundance; taking care of the body by giving it: enough rest,
sleep &
water
and perhaps a better living and working environment would be a good start to self help. A depleted system is prone to attack.

Alternative cure for Tinnitus

Is there an alternative tinnitus cure?

Click Here to for Alternative cures for Tinnitus...

As far as studies and research go; there is no cure for tinnitus. However, as tinnitus is commonly known as a symptom and not a disease, there is much we can think about as an alternative tinnitus cure.

Whilst it is acknowledged that some cases of tinnitus are very severe and will perhaps need medical assistance, there are some cases that can be 'cured' under certain circumstances; an alternative cure for tinnitus.

For example, in some cases sufferers may have excessive ear wax forming a 'plug' in the inner ear, this can be just one source of tinnitus, but by having the 'plug' removed, the source is also removed; an easier and shorter process of alternative tinnitus cure, albeit perhaps not particularly pleasant.

Alternative tinnitus cure tips
Changes in lifestyle can sometimes become the alternative tinnitus cure; i.e. without the aid of medical help, in less severe cases, self help can sometimes solve the problem. Cleansing the body from within discharges built up toxins that can create all manner of problems and discomfort; cleansing the liver, the kidneys and the bowel with herbal remedies and water drinking may seem a bit 'off the wall' when you are suffering tinnitus, but toxins have a habit of creeping into just about any part of the body, including the ear canal.

What can be a more natural but alternative cure for tinnitus than exercise!

Yes, a lot of people cringe at the very thought of exercise if they are not a gym fanatic, but here we are talking about Yoga; Pilates; Walking; Cycling; Fishing; Golf; Meditation; Dancing; even pushing the children on a swing.

What we're really getting at here is relaxation, non of these activities have to be strenuous or competitive, often the tinnitus sufferer just needs to take time out for themselves and practice an enjoyable activity, thus reducing their stress levels and in turn, reducing or alleviating the symptom.

If the sufferer happens to sweat slightly during these activities, that would be seen as beneficial as many toxins are able to escape via the sweat glands.

An alternative cure for tinnitus need not be expensive...
Think about lifestyle, diet, and enjoyable forms of relaxation.
The answer may be closer than you think.

In days of old, those considered to be wise, professed sleep to be a form of natural healing. As the body is said to heal itself during sleep, it is a very important factor in aiding recovery. Scientists talk to us about Earthing; (physical contact with the earth with bare feet) and how this will neutralise free radicals and reduce inflammation, and as with many other conditions, natural relief for tinnitus should involve improved sleep patterns.

There are many forms of healing tinnitus naturally

We may not recognise the fact that there are many forms of healing tinnitus naturally surrounding us constantly, nature is a wonderful thing.

Sound healing ; we have the ability to tune our body in line with the earth's vibrations and release negative energy. Just listening to the natural sounds around us can bring peaceful and positive thoughts, just as Tibetan monks have done for hundreds of years with chants and mantras.
Healing tinnitus naturally with flower essences ; we probably underestimate the power of flowers, their vibrant colours and high fragrance can soften our senses into a feeling of calm and well being; adding fresh rose petals to a bath or lavender stems under a pillow aids relaxation and sleep.
Colour therapy has been used as natural tinnitus healing for thousands of years. We all need light to function, during the darker winter months we do not feel as happy or energetic, yet when spring arrives, bringing light and colour, our personal aura and spirits are lifted. Everyone loves a rainbow; it shows the colours of the spectrum so pleasing to the eye and since the colour wheel was developed in the 17 th century, it has been used widely in therapy sessions.
Healing tinnitus naturally with crystals ; crystals have energising properties allowing us to balance our inner self, for those who have purchased a crystal, they will understand how we can be drawn to one particular crystal and how it will immediately become warm in the hand, already releasing its energy and creating a feeling of calm. Used as natural tinnitus healing, it helps to calm and relax the brain patterns, thus relieving the anxiety tinnitus brings.
Meditation ; Learning to relax properly is a skill which needs to be practised, and using this method for healing tinnitus naturally, will not only help with the condition, but the everyday stresses of life.

Healing tinnitus naturally

It may not seem natural at first, but any sufferer just taking the time to look around them will find many parts of nature they had before simply taken for granted.
