As a medical transcriptionist one of the most important aspects of your business is probably going to be your rate and how much you charge your clients. There are a couple different options available as a transcriptionist and how to price your work. Let's take a look at them.

The most popular way to charge clients is per line (this seems to be the industry standard so you might want to keep that in mind). Charging per line usually works out best because then you are getting paid for what you type. As you get quicker your income will increase. This option seems to be favorable for both the transcriptionist (you) and the client (doctor).

If you decide that you do not want to charge per line another couple options you can consider are charging per character, per page or even per hour. It's entirely up to you and what you feel comfortable doing but you'll also want to do some research locally and see what your competition is doing.
