Who hasn't used the web for personal medical research? Here are some great sites.
Where can I find good medical information?
The World Wide Web is a terrific resource for medical information for the layperson. Some say there is too much medical information! There is enough material to scare you, to confuse you and to frustrate you. This lens gives you some great starting points for helpful and reliable medical information.
The sites are loosely grouped: general information, specific medical conditions, and hospital sites. If you don't see a site you like, try the special health search engines that are age group focused.
This lens and these sites can not give you specific medical advice. Rather, they can give you background information and help you to form better questions for your health car providers.
These sites were culled by personal experience and by listening to other sources that have reviewed and rated medical sites. It is far from complete. In fact you can suggest additional reference resources from your own experience.
Feel free to rate your favorite sites (click the up arrow), recommend other sites and post comments on this lens and its subject of great medical web sites.
