For one week we are back in the medieval time
Medieval Week on Gotland - travel 600 years back in time. The celebrations are around Visby, a town with medieval roots. But the whole island Gotland is effected by this. During eight days in August the Middle Age is back. Gotland's special settings, Visby's 200 medieval houses on winding lanes, splendid church ruins, and the magnificent city wall frame a spectacle without equal. Markets and music, theater and lectures. Knights clash in tournaments. Medieval Week leaves no one unaffected. It is an unforgettable journey in time and space. Experience Medieval Week on Gotland. Discover history. Medieval Week 2009 takes place August 2nd - 9th. The Medieval official site provides webcams! Web cameras Visby I also recommend that you use the links I posted. They are in English
You are welcome - BUT.....
first - bring out your sewing mashine
You have to dress like a medieval people did. You can rent a little place and sell your things but only if they fit into the medieval era. The handcraft on the photo here is one kind.We have had so much fun dressing in sack cloth and having leather sandals on our feet. You cannot bring a mobile phone or a laptop here. Well this is the spirit in the medieval week. I guess you can sneek a camera in under your clothes =)
