A Meditation Overview
What My Guided Meditations Have to Offer

What I want to talk about today is emotional healing. I want to talk about it because I have talked with many, many people since my book has been published about what it has taken to heal their arthritis. Some people are able to get healing of their arthritis only using physical methods but that is not who normally gets well. Who normally gets well are people that are willing to use spiritual, emotional, mental and physical modalities to heal. And so today I would like to talk about emotional release because it was very important in my own healing from arthritis. I was able to get symptomatic control just using physical methods but the deep underlying healing - that means I don't need anymore drugs, I'm not on a restricted diet anymore - came from some deep emotional release that came through a meditation practice.
So a lot of people ask, "What do you do? How does this work?" The first thing I want to say is that I didn't know that I had this anger and fear in my body. But when it released through meditation, what I noticed was just a slight shift in my being. If I hadn't of been meditating I might not have known that anything happened at all. It was the same thing with the fear. So some people think that the emotional release mean you have to go, "I'm so angry! I'm so angry! I'm so afraid!" And sometimes you can have a cathartic release when that happens and you can be healed but that's not the important part. The important part is that there is some little glitch, usually it is not very big, that shifts somewhere in your being and that is the healing part. So you can be sitting very quietly in meditation, something can shift that only you know about or maybe you even miss it but you're healed. And so what I would like to share with you is how to do that. And because meditation is really hard to learn from a book but it is easy to learn from guided meditations I have created a six CD guided meditation set. And I've created a special here today. I've got an introductory CD, it's about an hour. Even if you have never meditated before, even if it seems like a weird, bizarre kind of practice, my guided meditations will take you through what to do, and how to do it. It is not actually weird and you don't have to have all the weird trappings. It is actually a way to train your mind that can then heal your spirit and your emotions then your body and your mind too.
The second CD of the special here today is an anger releasing CD and it has vipassana meditation techniques for releasing anger that were very powerful and worked very, very well for me. Usually either one of these CDs alone is $27, but with the special here at the end of this video you can get both of these for $27 total. It's part of a larger CD set I have where there is the introductory one, there is tonglen meditation, it is the first type of meditation, it is a Tibetan practice that gave me relief from pain. I used to be in so much pain that I just wanted to scream at night. I couldn't go to sleep, I was exhausted and this was the first type of meditation that helped relieve that type of pain. It's really very, very powerful. The next one is for physical pain. This is vipassana meditation mostly and it's just an amazing way to get deep healing. Even when you are in pain you can start retraining in your pain response so that what had been hurting you starts to heal you. It's a very amazing process. The fourth one is for fear. That was the other emotion that needed to be healed for me to have deep healing for my own arthritis. The fifth one is my anger one which I already told you about. And then the sixth one is resentment and bitterness which is a big issue for many people who have been in pain for a long time and have had their lives in some sense ruined by a chronic, fatiguing disease like rheumatoid arthritis.
These taken together are a very, very powerful arsenal. I spent years and years going to meditation retreats, learning how to use these techniques and not everyone who teaches how to meditate understands how to use deep levels of pain to heal and to make yourself a better person and to come out the other end with the physical healing. But I am one of those people that have done that. And I have studied with people that understand at a deep level what that takes. I would be very happy to pass on what I know to you.

- I had a few years of poor health after my divorce; I am sure it was partially due to stress and my state of mind. The health issues were real, but my ability to fight off illness was definitely compromised.
