Meet Joey

Ranked #15,397 in Pets & Animals, #423,591 overall

Meet Joey! This is our newest addition to our family.

Joey was able to meet and become part of the family. Joey was put up for adoption and we just had to have her.

"My dog, she looks at me sometimes with that look, and I think maybe deep down inside she must know exactly how I feel. But then maybe she just wants the food off my plate." - Anonymous

Joey has been such a treat since we adopted her. She has a very inquisitive mind and likes to get into a lot of different things (her nose moving a mile a minute as she tries to find new things.)

Ride? Treat? Ride?

Where Was I Adopted From?

Forget Me Not Animal Shelter

Dave - Joey's brotherI was found by my family at the
FORGET ME NOT SHELTER
Forget Me Not Shelter is up Ferry County, Washington.  Ferry County is in the upper corner of Eastern Washington near Canada. The staff at the shelter drove my brother and I all the way to Monroe, WA. to let our families pick us up.

Here is my brother Dave [picture to right]. He was adopted by a family up in Canada. See more pictures HERE

Funny, but both of our families are wondering what kind of breed we are.

Joey - What's in a name?

Why did my family pick "Joey"?

When we knew for sure that we would be able to adopt Joey, we agreed to meet as a family to discuss her name. Some names came to mind, but Joey was suggested early and grew to be accepted even before the family meeting.

This is Dave's (Joey's brother) adoptive mum - nice to see pics and updates of Dave's sister, Joey :) We absolutely love Dave too - what great dogs they are. We are now pretty certain, that he is mostly a black & tan coonhound and possibly mixed with lab. We met a lady on our doggie walks in the mountains who has had coonhounds for years. Her coonhounds looked very similar to Dave. Dave's ears are longer than a lab but a bit shorter than most coonhounds and his fur is a bit longer than a pure bred coonhound, so I think the likelihood of them being part black & tan coonhound & possibly mixed w/ lab is quite high. Although he looks a lot like the Transylvanian hound, the possibility is more slim, but who knows, maybe. But his personality and traits are definately mostly hound - he only howls like a hound when greeting us at times and if someone plays the harmonica that can get him going ;) Such a great loving dog... I can't imagine life w/o him. Glad to see Joey's doing well too :)
