09-14-08 The 3 second rule has been around for a while but if you are having troubles getting dates you either haven't heard of this rule or you aren't following it...

Basically, the 3 second rule states as soon as you see a girl you like, you approach her.

If you're at a bar waiting for a drink and your dream girl walks up beside you, smile and say something.

Try to be prepared with a few openers you are comfortable initiating a conversation with, but approach even if you don't feel ready.

Hesitation is the friend of self doubt, hesitate and you start a stream of negative thoughts.

Following the 3 second rule means you will be getting a lot of practice approaching girls.

So even if you have a string of "turn downs" you will eventually find someone interested in having a conversation.

Remember the best chat up line in the world is to smile and say hello.

One of the biggest mistakes guys make is waiting for the perfect girl, in the perfect moment, in the perfect place... sure they never get turned down but that's only because they never even try.

Profound, I know.

Seriously, it is so easy to meet a beautiful woman and want to impress her so much that you babble on and on about "you" and all the things you've done and all the things you like...

This simply makes you look self centered and not interested in her.

It is fine to talk about yourself but keep it short then ask her a question about herself.

Try your best to remember the answers she gives to the questions you ask and bring it up later in the conversation with another question about one of her previous answers... This is powerful stuff because it shows you were listening to her and cared enough to remember what she said.

For example if you ask what type of hobbies she has she may rattle off a list like... "watch movies, shopping, scrap booking, scuba diving..."

Later in the conversation ask her "what was the favorite place she ever scuba dived"... get it?

I thought so...
