Melted Rachel's Zazzle Gallery

Welcome to Melted Rachel's Showcase!

Below you'll find out more about the images I use in my Zazzle gallery to create products.

I'm a textiles artist and my Zazzle gallery is currently made up of prints of my original textiles pieces- whimsical imagery created with fabrics and embroidery.

In my gallery you will also find shoes, like those shown opposite and postcards and mugs.

Red Rabbit

One of the textiles pieces I've used as imagery for my Zazzle Gallery.

Red Rabbit was inspired by a song.

The central part of this piece is a homage to Gustav Klimt's The Kiss.

A simplified rabbit takes up the left side of this piece, the bottom half depicts a desert and dark trees cover the moon in the top right corner.

Autumn Art Quilt

One of the textiles pieces I've used as imagery for my Zazzle Gallery.

This is a centre piece for an Art Quilt, measuring 30" x 30". The centre piece is surrounded by dark green material which makes the full size 60 inches.

This piece was made with lots of fabrics, lots of embroidery, which was melted and hand sewed into, and decorated with image transfers of my own autumn photos, applied embossing metal and numerous beads.

Her hair cascades across the surface of the quilt as if Autumn wind is blowing through it.

Art Quilts are meant for decoration rather than being used as a proper bed quilt, they can't be washed but they can be spot cleaned or alternatively you could ask for advice from a reputable dry cleaner.
Art Quilts can be placed on a bed as decoration or hung.

Spring Art Quilt

One of the textiles pieces I've used as imagery for my Zazzle Gallery.

Spring was the second seasonal Art Quilt I made.

She was made for a Spring project for a textiles group on the Internet. The brief was to make something that would chase the winter blues away.

Flowers and plants are explode into bloom in a huge tide of nature.

This centre piece is 30" x 30".

Spring is surrounded by dark green fabric which makes the dimensions of the whole piece 60 inches x 60 inches.

Bluebirds and Baby

One of the textiles pieces I've used as imagery for my Zazzle Gallery.

This textiles piece is the top of an Ottoman which was recycled, recovered and repainted.

The baby, bluebirds and nests have extra padding under them to give them more of a 3D feel.

Fluffy bits have been used to give this piece texture and depth.

This piece features in my Foundling Book and is part of the same series as Mother and Child, Father and Child, Lovers, Baby (pictured below).

The front cover of the Foundling CD book was an early photo of this textiles piece before it was sewn together.
