Leave a Greeting or Note to Immortalize Your Thoughts About Keepsakes
What's in your Personal Keepsakes Box?
From the lens Steamer Trunks: Guardians of Keepsakes, Souvenirs and Mementos.
I can (and have in the past) rid myself of almost all possessions except those with sentimental meaning. My steamer trunk has stayed with me wherever I've moved - I never put it into storage. I have thousands of photos in print and digital form that I can't fit into my trunks so they're stored in plastic tubs. I also have many special keepsakes that bring back wonderful memories. Do you keep a box or trunk full of memories?

- What a lovely lens topic! I haven't got a trunk, but I have got a carved oak chest with the year 1647 on the front. It's large but I can't keep much in it any more as the bottom boards are a little fragile. The chest belonged to my grandmother and has a secret compartment - inside is her wedding bouquet, a silk stocking and a hank of her hair. They must be almost 90 years old as she married around 1925.

- We have several trunks for keeping special items. Nothing that we keep would mean much t anyone else, but to us they mean the world.

- I understand! I'm like that with my dome top antique trunk. It dates to around the 1880's I believe. I keep my wedding things & old family photos as well as some antique periodicals. I have an old canvas trunk that I keep all the photos & baby things {I have had 4 babies so ithas a lot in it}. The old canvas one was given to us my by husbands family and I saved up and bought my dome top when I was only 16 or 17. It was $100.00 - which was a fortune to me. My dome top has been though 10 moves not including it being taken with us when evacuating for the hurricanes. =)

- Steamer trunks are such a great idea for keeping personal treasures and heirlooms. They have such history to them. I can imagine how wonderful it must be to open your treasure chest every so often to take a trip down memory lane.

- We have the trunk my husband's grandparents brought from Italy. It's pretty beat up, but we love it and keep it in the bedroom, full of photos. Lovely lens, Squid Angel Blessed!

- What a lovely lens, it is such a great idea and you have given me an idea about what to do with Sparky's gorgeous wooden toy box that we bought her for her first birthday! Looks like I will need two more boxes, one for Lizzie and one for me!
I love the whole concept behind this lens - Squid Angel Blessings to you!
