I am touched by your treasured memories. I remember drums, the whole town (village) in a march to the cemetery. A loud salute followed by commiseratrions and a picnic in a piney spot. My fragile grandma distributing her poppies and loving the garden on that day. like-fave-lens-roll to How-we-treat-one-another and G-is-for-Garden.

Oh yes, I remember the paper poppies from when I was a child! They were special. We have a parade in the small town where we live now, with a ceremony honoring fallen soldiers from so many wars at the end. It's a very nice local event.

Thanks! I just donated to a vet to get a Poppy in honor of my recently deceased father, who was a Navy man. I had never seen them before and it is nice to hear the stories! 5* fellow Rocket Mom

Wonderful lens in support of the REAL reason behind Memorial Day (I'm afraid too many see it as just national cookout day). We are very thankful each Memorial Day (and every other day) for our nation's military and all they do keep us safe and protect our freedoms. 5*

What incredible pictures! I am so proud to be an American! I've never even heard of a Confederate Memorial Day? This is a terrific lens, so much information I never knew. I didn't know the North and South argued over who had the first memorial day. I mean it, this is terrific content. 5 stars!

Here, in Canada we celebrate Armistice Day on November 11th every year and we proudly
wear the poppy on our lapels.

    Very well detailed lens.
