Overcome Life's Many Difficulties With Scripture Memorization

There is many scriptures you can use to help lead people to salvation. Many call it Romans Road To Salvation or simply Romans Road. This is at its simplest three vereses from the book of Romans in The New Testiment.

In Our church we use the following three plus one more. Actually use more but for those who are just starting out these few do the purpose of leading those to salvation. These four verses are:

*** Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"
*** Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
*** Romans 6:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
*** Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Committing these to memory can help anyone to come to know our Lord and savior at anytime if the need arises. I must have read and listened to these versus for a week before I finally got them committed to memory. I still stumble at times if its been awhile. SO I still have to come back to them and study them again and again. I find it well worth my time and efort to do so.

I believe the Bible teaches us to be angry but to sin not. Meaning your going to get angry that is an emotion from with in us but let us not sin from that anger. The Bible also says not to let the sun go down on our wrath. In other words do not let another day go by with the anger still in your heart.

The Bible teaches us all about forgiveness. There are so many passages on this topic which I will get into some later in this lens. I like to use this verse as a way of calming anger that tries to surface. I repeat this petitioner phrase, "Be angery and sin not" after the third time the anger is usually abated and I am no longer tempted to sen. We all our tempted to sin. Jesus Christ himself was tempted to sin by Satan. Temptation is another topic I wish to cover later in this lens.

These help in a number of ways. As you begin using themyou will realize how important they are and how useful they are in your life and in the lives of others.

*** Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
*** 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour"
*** John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
*** John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
*** Proverbs 16:3 "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."

Some of these I am in the stages of memorizing and others I am planning on memorizing. I hope this will always be a growing list of verses I will memorize. So here they are:

*** Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
*** 1 Chronicles 29:18 "O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee"
*** Psalm 40:5"Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered."
*** Psalm 92:5 "O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep."
*** Psalm 94:19 "In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul."

Some of these already belong on my list of verses I've already memorized and some already on the list I will memorize but I wanted to included them all here for the topic of anxiety.

*** Psalm 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
*** Psalm 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
*** Proverbs 16:3 "Commit thy works unto"
*** Jeremiah 17:7 "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
*** Jeremiah 17:8 "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

*** Matthew 6:26-34 "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
*** Matthew 6:27 "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?"
*** Matthew 6:28 "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin"
*** Matthew 6:29 "And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."
*** Matthew 6:30 "Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?"

*** Matthew 6:31 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?"
*** Matthew 6:32 "(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things."
*** Mattew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
*** Mattew 6:34 "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof"

Luke 10:27 "And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."

Out of the ten commandments God gives us in the old testiment, this is the first one Jesus gives in The New Testiment. Well it was given in the book of Matthew and Mark but I used this one as its eaiser to memorize and understand when read as this one verse here. In the book of Matthew this verse is separated into two verses but even then they go hand in hand as this one does.

I don't believe you can have one without the other. How can one truely love thy God withoult loving his people? How can one truely love God without loving him as this commandment states.

A lot from the books of Psalms are good for this one. These are normally pretty short but not too short and go on one topic usually. Psalms also has lots of encourgagement, faith, promises, conviction, and so much more that you would be wise to memorize if you can memorize larger amounts of scripture. Psalm 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Matthew 6:9-13

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 91

1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Proverbs 1

1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

9For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

14Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

16For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

17Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

18And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

19So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

20Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

21She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

22How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

26I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

30They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

I have heard of these vereses that have led people to the Lord. Well I don't know how many there were I just know the versus was in Isaiah 43 and to me these is what made sense to me.
Isaiah 43

1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
