The brain is composed of a dual cortex, right and left. They each contain temporal lobes.

The right cortex deals with voice memories, familiarities, and analyzing non verbal data.

The left cortex deals with listed information, language monotone, and verbal analysis. If one of portion of the brain is effected those memories will begin to slow down.

Identify What Type of Memory Loss You are Experiencing

There are signs that you can identify to figure out what type of memory loss your are experiencing such as:

Pay close attention to the kind of information that is eluding you. If it is something related to your daily course of life, like your marriage anniversary, or where you kept your watch, then it is high time you saw a doctor.

If your friends and families begin to notice you are having problems remembering this is a good indicator of short term memory loss. It also happens when you can't recall an answer to a question already answered a short while ago.

If you begin finding your day to day belongings in odd places then you could be experiencing memory loss.

Talk to your Doctor

If you realize your having problems with your memory you should talk to a doctor immediately. It is much easier to cure or recover from memory loss when you find out in its early stages. Talk to your doctor.

Improve Your Memory

There are home remedies you can do to improve your memory or stimulate the brain such as smelling peppermint. Research confirms that smelling peppermint stimulates the temporal lobes of the brain. Also doing puzzles, mazes, and reading can keep the brain stimulated and active.
