Men's Costumes

So you are looking for adult men's costumes, aren't you? That is a good sign. It shows that the men know how to have fun, they only happen to be men. For starters, how about Greek soldier costumes? What does a Greek soldier costume look like? It consists of a pleated skirt, a pair of tights and pom-poms on the shoes. This is really a traditional costume that is still being worn on special events at places such as the palace in Athens, during the guard changing ceremony.

If you happen to be an American Greek, it is pretty likely that you are quite familiar with this costume. You may have worn it during Greek Independence Day or at the Greek Orthodox church. The Greek costume is quite symbolic, reminding one of Greek's victory.

Before you start to dismiss this costume, it is not cheap as they are usually hand-made. In fact, they are often passed down from generation to generation. If you should have the opportunity to get your hands on one and you want to wear it, do it with pride. The events may have long since passed, but the costume lives on.

Here are some ideas for men's costumes. You can be a king or a court jester if royalty is your thing. Are you a fan of the super heroes? Now you get your chance to be Batman, Robin or their enemy known as the Joker. Maybe you want something like that but more; does Van Helsing ring a bell? Still, you may be a little on the romantic side and prefer something dramatic like the Phantom of the Opera.

Of course, you have probably read or watched a movie of the character that you have chosen. That is a good, as you can now rack your brain trying to remember what you saw or read for more ideas for your dress-up. What are the ideas for? For you to know how to accessorize yourself!

And don't think that makeup is limited to the women-folk. Your makeup obviously would be in a different vein. What I am saying is that your makeup is not here for vanity but rather, for drama. Either way, makeup is an excellent enhancement when professionally done.

What kind of makeup can you have anyway? Glittery powder for instance, or glow creams if you want to be more subtle. For even more drama, it is not makeup we call it; it is called face painting or, body painting, if appropriate. You will probably need a professional for this. But hey, Halloween is just for a day and besides, you will have lots of pictures for the record.

As for accessories, again, these are not limited to the women. Your men's costumes won't likely be complete without accessories. You know, if you keep thinking that only the women have it all, that is because you are thinking along their lines. Why should you? You can have makeup and or accessories just like the women, only in a different way. That is all.

Well, what kind of accessories? Hats, gloves, a staff, a stick if you are a magician, etc. If you are a magician, you can easily think of more props such as playing cards. Perhaps a necktie that rises to the occasion or a bow for your shirt? Maybe a beard and or a moustache for you? Glasses too?

Now here is the best part, but perhaps you already know that. You can go with a partner of course, and dress up to match each other. You may be the pepperoni pizza while she becomes the box for you. Or how about the popular sauces of ketchup and mustard? Speaking of mustard, hotdog and mustard, anyone? More condiments for you; salt and pepper shakers!

So what is stopping you? You can be a villain or a good guy. You can be someone with supernatural powers or a weapon wielding guy. Or just a good old funny guy, you know; as in harmless. Be evil or romantic. Or plan it all out with your fiancée or girlfriend. Go browsing together and have fitting sessions to laugh at one another. As you can see, you get as much fun preparing for the event as on the event itself. And that is the most important thing; good, clean fun.
