Let's face it, while recession hasn't left us all yet we can't spend that much these days even if it's a gift for him.

You don't actually have to spend a lot for him, not that much that is. Like the saying goes, "It's The Thought That Counts" and "The Path to a Man's Heart is Through His Stomach". You can cook for him, or pretend to that is. You can also give him gift certificates that you'll go with to any restaurant they want, even if you hate them.

There's also the option to create something out of nothing, perfect for the creative people.

Also, you can get him a board game... (see picture), no men would admit it but all men want it.

Not enough budget, or maybe saving it up for something bigger come Anniversary or something, no matter there are still some gifts that men would appreciate no matter the price tag.

Men's custom dress shirts found online. If you know their size and style you might want to try purchasing from tons of online custom dress shirt sites which are pretty cheap compared to what they'll be paying to their tailor.

Personalized things. There are tons of things that you'll be able to personalize from cufflinks to albums. Choose something he'll like or need.

Accessories for his favorite thing. May it be earphones, or pen, your gift can be something he'll be using together with the things he normally use. Might also be the thing he has been wanting the most.

Okay okay.. if you've got money to spare, you can opt for these things:

Netbooks. You don't him to be carrying his heavy laptops and have backaches when he comes home right?

Iphones/ Ipods/ Mp3 players - something to use while on the road, gym or anywhere.

Bikes. For the active men.

Digital Cameras. For him to capture every moment, including you of course.

Wow, this is probably the hardest category... your options are limitless:

dSLR Cameras. Might bring out the inner photographer in him OR he might just use it as an expensive paperweight.

Laptops / Cellphones / Expensive gadgets. Need i say more.
