Handling Diabetes Like a Pro

Learning to control diabetes can be tough. But it can be done. Being diagnosed with diabetes about a year and a half ago, I know what its like having to live with it.

Here are some things you can do now to help your diabetes:

1. Cut out sweets and refined foods for snacks. Substitute these with fruits and high nutrient value foods.
2. Drink more water.Water helps control blood sugar and helps your body to function better.
3. Eat more fruits and vegetables. They are high in fiber so they release carbs slower and help control blood sugars.
4. Watch the alcohol. If you do choose to drink, do so in small quantities and always eat food when you drink.

You can live with it if you plan and follow through with your plan. Lifestyle change is important as is the willingness to make changes to prevent problems later.
